Stop when a dog is loose in the road.....? Well where should I start ...... I was on my journey to work this morning I had two pedeastrians try to throw them selves in front of my car.... right so now im looking every where expecting people to want to jump out from behind parked cars..... The had a death wish.....
Ok im now out of the town and driving through the countryside.... when i notice two cars in front of me swerve to avoid something.... They dont stop..... I get close enough to see what it is...... It's a black and white springer spaniel.... that has found a squirel in the middle of the road...... It is quite a fast road and the thought that someone might run her over.... Too much for me to bare so I stop the car put my hazzards on and went up to the dog .......Which seeing my authority and my babour jacket... Promptly sat down...... I then took hold of her collar....Gave her a quick stroke and marched her off to the nearest farm house......And I still managed to get to work

Hi,

I am a new owner of a Maltese/Shitzu dog and have never had one before. I have a question, when can i start bathing it? She's only 6 weeks old. I have found puppy shampoo and some other that kills fleas. Can the fleas one be used or is she still too young for it?

Thanks

He has done this one other time before (in 2004). His legs spazz, his neck spazzes and he wobbles around. He came out of it and I let him outside and he was walking around fine. Soon after I hear rumbling in the leaves and he's doing it again. He was able to walk to me but very unsteady.

He's in my lap right now and panting but seems to be okay. What do I do? There are no emergency vet offices.

He's a very small pomeranian, 5 years old.

animals to find them and she truely beleived in her statement:I am not a morose person, but I would rather not be here. I don't have any reverence for life, only for the entities themselves. I would rather see a blank space where I am. This will sound like fruitcake stuff again but at least I wouldn't be harming anything."
--Ingrid Newkirk, national director, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PeTA), as quoted in Chip Brown, "She's a Portrait of Zealotry in Plastic Shoes," Washington Post, November 13, 1983, p. B10.
Why did she use such treatments to save her life from cancer? Why dose she employ others who use other treatments that harm animals to be Impove thier health.

She's a 5-year-old boxer/lab mix that we've had since she was just a few weeks old. She's very sweet, but she's appears to have some sort of anxiety disorder. For instance, at the first clap of thunder, she starts to shake, she won't leave your side, and she won't eat or drink anything for hours. This is true also for fireworks, and now even rain and construction work. When we take her on walks, if she hears any sudden sound, she stops in her tracks and pulls to go back. She behaves as you might expect an abused dog to behave, but we've had her for most of her life and have never laid even a disciplinary finger on her. What should we do?
Thanks

I have a 6 month old American Bulldog and a 2 year old Cairn Terrior (about a 50 lb difference...lol) They get along great and are lost without each other. However...when I let them outside to piddle...the AB does her business quickly while the CT takes her time. The problem is that once the AB is finished she grabs the CT's collar in her mouth and pulls her to the front door before she's had a chance to piddle. I've tried taking them out separately, but the CT stands at the door waiting and won't do her business. How do I train the AB to leave the CT alone long enough for her to finish??

And what kind of dog is it.

My rott likes to sleep in the bathtub. I thought it was because she was hot, but no she likes it in there all the time. My other dog, likes to mess with my boyfriend everytime he gets out of bed he jumps up in his spot. so if my boy goes to the potty he has to fight the dog to move before he can go back to bed...

what about your puppies

OK...I know this is a silly question but...here's the scoop: I take him out several times a day for walks and a fun run back to the house, he is always leashed because there is traffic nearby, he naturally sniffs out "food" specifically any bones (people that live in the area are gross and leave chicken wings/bones thrown on the grass & bushes). During the day I can easily avoid these but at night it's hard to see and he's so freaking quick that he has it in his mouth before I know it. My question is #1- Is it going to serious harm to him to eat one of these bones? #2- How do I get him to drop it? (He'd rather die than drop it) I've tried obedience classes and he's just so stubborn that he doesn't respond. Please don't respond if you're going to say anything other than being HELPFUL..no meanies!

I am crate training her and have had good success. I also use a bell which she rings when she needs to go outside. I am consistent with her feeding and walking schedule. But lately, mainly in the evenings, she will not poop, so at 4 in the morning she starts to whine and I have to get up and let her out. I have done a lot of research and reading, but I don't know what to do. I know she has to go, but she wont. Any suggestions?? I am really starting to lose my patience!

I despise Barking dogs & their owners, they are total nuisances , they are horrific for people with good hearing who would like to live and sleep in peaceful quiet slumber.
barking dogs make many of us psychotic !
Seems all the deaf people own barking dogs and those with hearing were able to train their dogs properly . The Dog Whisperer, Ceasar Milan is awesome !

I have a springer spaniel and near the end of his snout it seems to be swollen. My twin brother, whom I live with, brings the dog to work everyday and the dog (Ranger) seems to be the happiest/healthiest dog on earth. I came home late tonight and as usual wanted to hang out with Ranger. When I let him out of my brother's room I noticed that the end of his snout seems to be swollen. It seems all puffy.

What could this be? Keep in mind my brother is a little sick and may even have to miss work. Could our dog have a stuffy nose and it's showing? We've been sick in the past two years since we've had the dog, and he's never looked like this before.

We will certainly have to bring him to the vet if this stays like this, but any one else experience this before? Thanks!

I have a 7 month old 65 pound mastiff (runt) that will probably grow to be 100 lbs. My girlfriend who is new to dogs and not as much of a dog person as I am does not want the dog in the bed at night. I like having him on the bed

My girlfriend is only here two nights a week while the dog is here all the time obviously. She is concerned with the cleanliness of the dog i n the bed and the dog taking up room. Even if I wanted him out of the bed how could i train him not to go on it now that hes been on there for 6 months.
