He has done this one other time before (in 2004). His legs spazz, his neck spazzes and he wobbles around. He came out of it and I let him outside and he was walking around fine. Soon after I hear rumbling in the leaves and he's doing it again. He was able to walk to me but very unsteady.

He's in my lap right now and panting but seems to be okay. What do I do? There are no emergency vet offices.

He's a very small pomeranian, 5 years old.

Sounds like a seizure, any chance you have a 24 hour emergency vet you can take him to right now? I'm in LA and in a city this big I only know of 2 or 3. If you can take him sooner thatn later that's better.

Be prepared for some tests - x-rays, blood, etc. If he's on any medication let the vet know. Also look aroung your house and outside for something he may have eaten - chocolate, rat poision, lawn care products like fertilizer, soap on you floor, antifreeze leaking from a car, even stuff on teh soles of your shoes if you work somewhere industrial. Even something as innocent as a dropped aspirin, vitamin or cold medicine tablet can do things to a dog or cat.

I hope it turns out OK.

he may be having a seizure or maybe he got into some kind of
pill or something
my dog i used to have named Charlie got Par vol once we took him to the vet and they saved him but they gave me some medication for him they told me to give him the blue pill in the night and the yellow in the day so that is what i did and all of a sudden my dog started spazzing out he would fall to the floor and get stiff then he would shake and he couldn't get up when he did he would stumble he was a 9 month old puppy at the time, he was a chiuaua/Pomeranian mix once i stopped giving him that medication he got better and never had another seizure since
so it kinda sounds like what your dogs does is the same thing mine did Take him to the vet but make sure they know what they are doing chances are it could just be because of his age
or he may be ill get him checked

You don't say where you are, but it's 2.30am so I'm guessing US. It could be he's been bitten by a poisonous spider or something. I''d get him to the vet as soon as you can. It happened to a dog of mine and I got him to the vet and he was fine in about three days. Good luck.

Possibly could be diabetic. Give him a piece of food and if it goes away, then that is probably what it is. My sisters dog did this and she would give him a treat bone and he would be fine. He needed to get insulin shots though. Unfortunately, he died of from it eventually. Get him to the vet as soon as you can.

Epilepsy can be a problem with some pure breeds. also diabetes is a strong candidate for a fit.
