She has dark blood in her droppings.. This is all that's wrong with her, she's acting completely normal. My mom says she's had this before for a few days and it went away on it's own. But she's had it about a week now and last night she went to the bathroom in the house. My mom has been only feeding her about a 1/2 cup of food each day with a cup of rice since she got sick. Not sure why, but somehow she got the idea that rice and being hungry is the answer to stomach problems.

Is there a legit reason for feeding her the rice? And what's wrong with this dog?

I recently got a chihuahua puppy that is now 10 weeks old. At night I crate him next to my bed and during the day he has the run of the house when I can watch him. When I can't watch him, I put him in the bathroom with a baby gate over the door with his crate, food, water, a puppy pad, and a toy.
When he is crated at night he does great. He doesn't whine at all and doesn't soil his bed.
So, my question is, would it be safe to start just putting him in the bathroom instead of locking him in the crate at night now?

There are a few(very few) here who've heard of CRATES & how to use them.

It seems that 99.99% are unaware of X-PENS!!!

Look 'em up,GET one & USE IT!!!!
Inside *&* out,pup to adult to geriatric.

WONDERFUL item.

I have 2 dogs. The first one, a terrier, sleeps upstairs with me. The second, a doberman pup, sleeps down in the kitchen but every night I have to endure him whining for hours. How can I help him to settle down...he is worse than a child?

if i am not in the house i would like to confine my puppy to the living room as it's the safest place for it to be, along with his (open) crate. what can i do to safe guard my sofa from the puppy? a plastic sheet over it would be dangerous, so what can I do?

Hi, I have a 3 month old puppy that I just got the friday before new years. I started house breaking her the very next day, and she was catching on very quickly and hardly having any accidents in the house that whole first week. Now we're in our second week and she seems to be reverting and although we let her out about 4 times a day she seems to poop and pee whenever we're not around. It seems almost like rebellious behavior. Can anyone give me advice

but does it really happen so often, and can a dog (who lives in the house) have intestinal worms, what shell a person do, and btw how it can affect family members, if so. And can you notice it, for example if a dog have eating disorder, it is just that I have a baby, and when I work he is with my mom-in-low and she has 2 dogs and they did not go to a vet like for more than a year, so tell me pls your opinion.

The vet just rang me now with the results of his stool samples. Unfortunatly its campylobacter. She said that a course of antibiotics for 5 days will be started. She said that a stool sample should be taken after as well. Has anybody else had this in their puppy or even to themselves? I have a younger brother and I dont want him getting it, do you think he should keep away from the pup? Im the main carer of the pup n clean up after him, is there anything that I should do to keep myself alright as well, other than the obvious washing hands after handling?
Will my puppy be ok after the antibiotics or can campylobacter still be there after it? Should I be doing anything for him to keep him alright?
Thanks very much,
Very concerned pup owner :(

the pup is only 12 weeks old and has been used to my girlfriend being here everyday, all day. but now she doesnt live here anymore and my puppy has just lost all the energy she had. even when i make her play it is short lived... she(puppy) has been potty trained and everything ever since the second week we had her.

I have just had my dog spayed but I wondered why the vet made me wait until 12 weeks after she came on heat I 100% knew she was not pregnant because I didn't allow hernear any other dogs for the full 3 weeks

When someone asks a question, not bothering to add details and then blasts everyone that is trying to help? I am sure most people would have answered very differently had the asker included the proper information.

Most adults have full-time jobs, but what do you do when you get a puppy? Please share your experience of what you did when you got a puppy and had to work. Did you put the pup in doggie daycare? Did you take a couple weeks off of work? Then what?

I have a 4 month old puppy. I work from home, so I'm able to watch her all day. She learned to sit at the door when she needs to go to the bathroom, which is great. However, she needs to go so frequently! She sits at the door at least every hour. How can I get her to hold it longer? She's fine at night and can sleep in her crate for 8 hours without going to the bathroom, but I'd like her to hold it longer during the day.

I've tried crating her while I'm home, but she cried for 2 hours nonstop yesterday. It's difficult for me to leave the house, since all of my work is here. Sometimes I try to ignore her when she's sitting at the door to go outside, but I don't want to discourage her telling me when she needs to go. Any tips?

my labrador has lost her fur on her l;egs and on parts of her body. She has got bald patches and thin fur on alot of her body but on her head and back her fur is thick and shiney. She is not scratching and doesn't seem in any discomfort, she eats well and seems healthy in herself. Is there anything I can do to help her fur grow back. She is 18 months old.
