My dog has had explosive liquidy diarrhea for two months now. We took her to the vet and they gave us steroids for her to take. They have seemed to help for one or two days, but she's back to it. Her body is constantly shaking and you can tell she just doesn't feel good. We decided the steroids may be too much for her little 10 pound body so we took her off them yesterday. She has been vomiting all morning though. She still has explosive liquidy diarrhea and no vet has been able to help us out and figure out what's wrong with her. If anyone has any help or a pet that's gone through this, please help. Thank you!

my dad won't take my dog to the vet unless he knows that there is something really wrong with him and I know there is. I think it is Asthma but I am not sure. Sometimes when he is just sitting down or sleeping, you know not bearly moving or anything, all of a sudden he starts breathy really really hard threw his nose then blowing it back out threw his mouth. He does this for about 45 seconds at a time or more. It is like when you have flem in your throught and you have to spit it out but first you have to like try and put it up the huuuuuick or something... anyways my dog does this everyday and he has been doing it more often lately... I don't know what to do. Someone please help me... I don't know what could be causing this or even what it is.

WHEN do *you* call the vet?

Can *you* tell a "boo-boo" from ARTERIAL SPURT?

How often can your dog vomit w/out your freaking out?

How can you tell if your dog is DEHYDRATED?

Can *you* give your dog it's meds? Pill &/or liquid?

Do *you* try "home-remedies" w/NO KNOWLEGE of cause OR treatment of the problem?

Do *you* run around like the proverbial HEADLESS CHICKEN? OR....are you OBLIVIOUS to a crisis?

How many of *YOU* are calm & sensible?(LMAO-*had* to ask)?

I have heard a person say that they are taking unwanted litters of puppies from various people who don't care about the dogs, cleaning them, getting them vaccinated, and selling them. These pups are sometimes pure-bred, sometimes not.

Other times, she has talked about issues with breeding her bloodhound and great dane, and how much to sell dachsund-pug pups for.

She's also interested in free sites to sell puppies online, giving shots to puppies at home, and starting a home business. I'm guessing with animals as the product?

Personally, I do not approve. I had thought puppy broker, but am leaning toward puppy miller as I learn more. Can't believe that some people find nothing morally wrong with this. If she's not actually breeding all of these unwanted dogs that she's finding wonderful homes for, she's still contributing to the problem and may be covering up for puppy millers by selling their rejects!

Before you answer, be aware that my dog doesn't run away from home, but runs away from me. Let me explain in more detail... I want to be able to take my dog (teacup pomeranian) outside with me without having to put a leash on him. I'd like him to stay right at my side without running off to "explore". What's the best way to accomplish this? In all other ways, he seems to be a perfect (and playful) dog. I would like to stay as far away from physical discipline as possible (such as swatting with a tree limb, which has been suggested). My grandmother's dog will stay right by your side and for no particular reason that I'm aware of. So, what's my best option to have my dog stay with me in the yard/park without wanting to run off somewhere? It just makes me really angry when he runs off and when I call for him to come back he just ignores me.

Please answer seriously!

I was considering getting a Siberian Husky. I know they shed a lot of hair. Can someone please tell me if this a good dog if you have kids? I have two boys, 11 and 8, and a 3 year old little girl. Thanks in advance!

I got a Jack russel terrier for christmas and she is 9 weeks old. She has been to the vet, and has recieved all of her shots. Our vet told us to feed her Iams Puppy Chow, so that she maintains a helathy life. So we bought the Iams and on the side of the bag it says to feed 3 lb. puppies 1 cup a day, but to split that cup between the amount of times you feed them. Well we feed her twice a day ( once at 4 a.m. so that she has enough time to go to the bathroom before i leave for school at 7 a.m.,, and at 3:30 p.m. which is the time that i get home from school) so i feed her a 1/2 a cup both of those times. Now she is a very energetic puppy and she loves to play and run around and snuggle up on you chest at night so its not like she's sick. But when i feed her in the morning and the afternoon she's not eating the full 1/2 cup either of the times. the vet also told me to give her 15 mins. to let her finish but she still doesn't eat it.she eats 1/2 of the 1/2 cup.does anyone know why?thanks

I have a 10 wk old boxer puppy and we are working on crate training. I left him over the weekend for a couple hours, he was fine, laid right down. I have him go in there, give him a treat, etc while we are home so he knows that his "spot" and a good one, not a bad place to be. Today i went home at lunch to play with him, and put him back in to come back to work, gave him a treat, usual routine. He was crying SOOO loud i could hear it outside. Is this normal? If so, when will it stop, or how can i help it stop? I feel so cruel and can;t even focus on work now! Suggestions please! :)

I have noticed that the only time that my dog howls is when I play my harmonica. I find this rather amusing but is it a sign of appreciation or is he- like everyone else- protesting at my "music"?

Okay so here is the problem: Lately,i've noticed that everyday I get home from school something is chewed into pieces....rugs,blankets,etc. His name is Luda, and he's a male. Luda's breed is part black lab/part greyhound,so he is big for his age. (about 2 yrs old.) The problem is that...if he is punished...he will put his head down, and cry. We would be more strict, but the problem is that he's my brother's dog. We are watching him while my brother finds a place to live & a job (due to relationship issues.) Along the way..Luda was abused by someone that he was watched by,because he always puts his head down if you encourage him,and he flinches with the slightist move of anyone.
(moving arm, walking across room, etc) Can you give me some advice to teach him to stop misbehaving, but without being too strict? Thanx.

My dog throws up everytime I bathe him, and if he isn't throwing up he is gagging. At first, I thought it was the water getting into his face, but I avoided getting water into his face and he still vomits. Anyone have any expierence with this? How do I stop it? Is it something with the breed?

My puppy can get quite aggressive when he is playing. He managed to get my childs sock off and when I tried to get it back he wouldn't let go of it. I had to retrieve it from his mouth and as I did this he bit my finger hard. He has never done this before and it seemed more agressive than normal. How do I handle this one?

I have a friend who preforms internal examinations on her pregnant jack russel bitches using her fingers.I feel uncomfortable with her doing this and am sure the dogs are too.Is it normal and safe for her to be doing this?(she does it before labour starts,to see if they are dilating, and during the labour).
