OMG!!!!!!!!! Take her to the vet and have the pups ABORTED!!!!! If you do not know the BASICS such as gestation and that it is called a HEAT CYCLE and NOT a period then you DO NOT need to be breeding!

You are a sick, IRRESPONSIBLE, BACK YARD BREEDER that contributes to the THOUSANDS of dogs DYING in shelters everyday.

I can almost GUARANTEE that your dog IS NOT:

A. show quality (let alone titled)
B. Not checked for genetic disorders common to the breed

Are you prepared to find the puppies PERMANENT (1/4 of dogs that DIE in shelters are purebred) homes that have research the Beagle breed thoroughly to insure that it is the right breed for them? Are you willing to feed the pups every 2 hours if the mother rejects them? Are you willing to PROPERLY SOCIALIZE them? Are you willing to provide the proper vet care for both the mom and pups BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER the delivery? Are you financially prepared to have and emergency c-section if needed? Do you know when to intervene and when not to? Are you prepared for sleepless nights and LOTS of poop pickup?

Are you willing to accept the fact that your PET may DIE during birth?

Despite some of the negative responses here, the "milk has been spilled" so now it's time to move on. You now need advice and not criticism!

It would be a very wise move on your part to take your dog to the vets, even if it's to just confirm that she is pregnant. The pet doctor, if they are a good one, will check her overall health and make any recommendations to you. If she is indeed pregnant then the following applies:

The typical gestation period for a beagle is 63 days, but she could have them anywhere from 60 to 65 days after becoming pregnant.

And I'm glad to see that you care enough about her to want to feed her right during her pregnancy. I hope you will carry that attitude long after the pups are born.

What she eats during her gestation period is absolutely important for her health, and the health and development of the "little ones".

To give the developing puppies the best start possible and to keep "mama" healthy, feed your dog a high-quality food, preferably dry, with some canned food every now and then.

Feed her a food which contains a "named" meat-source protein as the FIRST ingredient, with the meat being either in whole or meal form ("named" meats are listed on the ingredients label as chicken, lamb, beef, etc) Example: The ingredient label should read "chicken" or "chicken meal" and not "meat" or "animal" whatever.

The first ingredient should ALWAYS be a meat source. And the more meat sources there are within the first five ingredients listed, the better.

"UNNAMED" meats, by-products (whether named or not), and beef and bone meal are of poor quality, indigestable and generally unhealthy.

And definately avoid any product with, "animal" fat, "animal" digest, "meat and bone" meal, chemical preservatives (BHA, BHT, Ethoxyquin) and artificial colors and flavors.

Try to avoid products with corn, wheat, and soy as well.

Unfortunately many "top selling" dog foods today (Iams, Science Diet, Eukanuba, Nutro, Pedigree, etc) are not as good as the manufacturers claim, with some brands (Purina Dog Chow or Kibbles n Bits for example) containing many HARMFUL ingredients. That explains why they cost so much less than other better foods.

Fortunately there are still some good foods out there which cost just as much, and sometimes alittle less, as the more popular but less healthy brands.

Some good ones are:

Chicken Soup For The Dog Lover's Soul
Diamond NATURALS
Premium Edge
Canidae Canine
Healthwise
Natural Balance Ultra Premium
Eagle Pack (Holistic Select ONLY)
Innova

It's best not to buy dog food from stores like Walmart or Kroger. What they sell is cheap in both price AND quality.

It's also important to feed your dog proper amounts of food as well.
During the first 6 weeks of her pregnancy she generally will need very little increase in the amount of food you feed her.
But in weeks 7, 8, and 9 you may have to increase her food by around 25% to 30%.

Because of your dogs special needs, it might be a good idea to put her on a good quality puppy food during the last 3 or 4 weeks of pregnancy (she will need the added calories, protein, and fat that's in it). DON'T feed her any large breed puppy food, just the regular puppy or even small breed puppy formula's.
Just be sure that, whatever food you use, you don't overfeed her.

If you decide to switch to a different food, be sure to change gradually from the old food to the new over several days time (start out by using 3/4 of the old food with 1/4 of the new. Gradually decrease the old while increasing the new food over a period of about 7 to 10 days)

Check out the following links for any useful information. And good luck to you and your dog!

Did you know you should not breed your dog until they are at least two years old!! If she just went into her first heat then she is only about 6 month old and way to young to be breeding! To answer your question she will be pregnat for 61 days but be ready to bottle feed the puppys she is not old enough to know how to take care of her self! You may also have to help her give birth! Please get her fixed A Back Yard Breeder is not a good lable to have and that is what you are!!

Please follow these directions

Feed her a high qaulity puppy foos from now until the puppies are 8 weeks old. That dose not mean go to the grocery store and get a food! HIGH QUALITY is only found at the pet store!
Avodrem Puppy
Royal Caine Puppy
Nutros Puppy

This will help her to suppliy milk for the puppies and help her to stay healthy.

You can at least do this for your pet

It is heat not period, and breast or nipple not boobies. You need a vet more than you do feeding advice. There is alot more that goes on with the health than simple nutrition. Is she a free whelper? If you can not answer this question please go to a vet and get some information there, you are going to need it. Contact the owner of the male and see if they have ever had a litter for advice when the time comes.

Before breeding your dog you should have done research so that you would have answers to all your questions. Too bad the only knowledge you have on breeding is how to throw two dogs together to get puppies. Do a search on pregnancy in dogs and lots of answers will come up.

A dog carries pups for 60 days before giving birth. You will notice that she has started making milk usually three or four days before she is going to give birth, sometimes up to a week before. Just be prepared once you notice that she is making milk. Feed her like you regularly do. Occasionally a vet might recommend vitamins, but if you are feeding her a good well balanced food, she will have all the vitamins she needs anyway. Just so that you are aware, she could also be having a false pregnancy which is very common in hounds. More than likely, she is pregnant, but if in two months or a little longer she doesn't have any puppies and she's still swollen, it could be a false pregnancy. If you want to make absolute certain, you can always take her to the vet. Congrats to you and good luck.

Why did you do this without doing research first? OMG! That poor dog!

Go to this website, it will help you out. It is from a Shih Tzu breeder, but, basically, all dogs go through the same thing when whelping.

Doh!!!! Dont you think you should have found this out BEFORE.
I sincerely hope that this question is your idea of a sick joke, there are too many puppies brought into the world in ignorance;

She should have the puppies at approximatly 63 days after breeding. It can take up to 24 hours once she is in labor to have all the puppies but normally they come pretty regularly. Feed her as you normally would with a little bit extra for the growing puppies. Good luck.

Approximately 63 days. I would feed her a premium food like Eukanuba.
