My female dog was accidentally mated earlier tonight (day 9 of season) but she is booked in for a routine health procedure tomorrow at the vets. Is it safe to procede or will the general anesthetic put the crucial early stages of cell division / formation of puppies at risk. I can't ask this question where I have booked my dog in as they operate a pro nuetering policy and I will get a very unhelpful response. I have not ever had a litter before.

My seven year old dachshund lost the use of both of her rear legs earlier today. She was doing well before I went to work and when I returned home from work she was dragging her back legs around behind her. She doesn't act like she is in pain, but I contacted our vet and took her in for him to look at her again. He gave her a shot and told me to take her home and lay her on a heat pad and massage her hips and call him back tomorrow. I'm very upset because I hate seeing her like this. Has anyone else been through this? If so please tell me what to expect.
Thank you.

My dog is 6 months old and its almost been a week. She is an Aussie and they are hyper. She wont stop jumping on the beds and I know she is doing too much. If we create her she is worse. I think I need to clean her stitches so they can heal better but Im not sure if I should.

I was interested in getting a new pup or kit and it will need to be chipped so he don't get lost. How much? Where do they put it in? Is it like the gps in my dads car?

I have a Black Lab he'll be 2 years old in April. He is also unneutered because he has a heart condition so he only goes under the knife for surgery for his heart. I've asked them if they would fix him while he was under for heart surgery and they said that it would be too much for his body to take. So far he hasn't been much of a problem except for every once and a great while he tries to mount my husky. For the past couples of days though he has started humping everything he can. The other dog and the cats. He taunts my other dog, I have to always watch him. Does anyone have any advice. I will be asking his vet the next time I see him. He is due for his heart follow-up in about a month. I'm just looking for some help. Thank You.

I have a 2 1/2 year old Maltese. When I am away from home, all is fine because he is kept in his "room" which he will not go potty in. The problem is when I am at home. Even if he just went potty outside he will come in the house and find a spot to go in. I take him out numerous times but it seems he prefers to go in the house. It is not possible to watch him every second so finds ways to sneak off and pee. He has not been fixed but my Vet said that at this point it is a behavior that my dog has learned and therefore neutering him will not help. I am so frustrated and my carpets and furniture are getting ruined. Please help!

All he did was hold a stethoscope to my pup's chest for what prolly amounted to five seconds, wiggle her ears *anyone know why?* and then check her eyes on request. Didn't weigh her, didn't get her to even stand up for him, didn't even ask how old she was. Should I be concerned?

He also tried to give her a vaccine she already had, practically had the needle in her before he stopped, even though we were protesting as soon as he was reaching for the needle. To top it off, he reffered to our male dog as a she repeatedly, even after being corrected, and the new female puppy as a he.

Is it a bright idea to go back to this guy? my mom's been going to him for all of our other animals, but I'm more than turned off that he treated our two STRAY cats with better care than my new papillon *yes, PB, or so the papers say* puppy.

The way it looks, you tell him what's wrong with the dog, he just doles out the meds.

I have a 3 mo. sheltie and he's a nipper. I've heard to say "ouch" whenever his teeth contact skin so they learn when they're playing too rough, but it's so hard to be consistent. Any other ideas?

My 3 year old Jack Russell mix ate some cookies made with marijuana butter while I was at work today. This was at least 6 hours ago and now he is drooling excessively, seems a little lethargic and is very wobbly on his feet. He is fine otherwise, we've been able to get him to play quite a bit, but I'm really worried. It seems like he would let us know if something was really wrong and he has a ton of energy. Any help you could give me would be appreciated!

I adopted (well, more like bought) a 5 month old beagle a couple weeks ago from a woman, but she has failed to provide me with a vaccination record for the pup, which she "claims" to have. She had also claimed to purchase the pup from a pet store. She had said that the puppy was up to date on all her shots, but we don't have proof. We want to get her spayed, but they would like us to provide a vaccination record. How harmful would it be to the puppy if she were to be vaccinated again for all the so-called vaccinations she supposedly already had? Including the rabies vaccination. Trying to get those records may be a lost cause already.

We got a new puppy (7wks old) on Sun.(Shih-Poo) He plays well with his toys, but, when it comes to playing with him AND his toys, he only wants to chew on US. Doesn't hurt or anything, just playful, don't want him to get into the habit though. Have tried, NO! Clapping hands and NO! NO BITE! He doesn't respond to ANYTHING!

My puppies are 8-week old Siberian Huskies. We have bought training pads for them so we can get them potty trained. But the problem is that no matter what we do to get them use it, they ignore it and go on the carpet. Usually they tear it up and then go somewhere not outside. I need help..What should I do?

Our 6 month old female pug has been humping people since she got spayed 2 months ago. She only does it when you have your arm or leg on her chest during play. When told NO she immediately stops, but I am curious as to why she does this after being spayed.
