My puppies are 8-week old Siberian Huskies. We have bought training pads for them so we can get them potty trained. But the problem is that no matter what we do to get them use it, they ignore it and go on the carpet. Usually they tear it up and then go somewhere not outside. I need help..What should I do?

no problem. first throw away the training pads. that problem is solved, now they can't chew them up. spend the money instead on 2 seperate crates for your pups. leave them in the crate anytime you can't directly observe them. make sure they're the right size. all your pup should be able to do is stand up turn around and lay back down. usually a dog won't potty where they have to lay. as soon as you take them out when you go through the door say let's go potty. take them out and wait. it might take awhile at first 30-45 mins, but once they go praise the heck out of them. wait for them to finish going or they may stop in midstream and finish inside later. also when you're outside waiting on them, don't play or anything with them until they potty. just keep saying go potty. once they go, you can play with them. if you catch them in the house going potty scoop them up and take them directly outside. be consistant. don't be lax and let them have the chance to have an accident when you're not looking and get them on a schedule of eating, going outside and exercise and you'll all be doing much better. good luck.

First, you need to clean up all the spots where they have gone in the past with a cleaner that breaks down enzymes, so that way they don't go in that spot anymore. Follow it with a black light to make sure all the spots are gone.

Next, you have to train them to go outside. At that age, they usually pee about 20 minutes (or so) after drinking, and about an hour after eating. So take them out after eating and drinking. When they do go outside, praise them like all hell, and give them a treat when you come inside (something small). Also watch them while you are there, and when they start sniffing around, take them straight outside, so they go outside.

While you are at work (or aren't home), put them somewhere where it'll be easy cleanup (like a baby gate in the kitchen, or laundry room), because at that age, they don't have the capacity to hold urine and poop for hours at end.

If you are consistent enough in praising them, and taking them outside, they'll associate going outside with treats and happy you.
