I have a 3 mo. sheltie and he's a nipper. I've heard to say "ouch" whenever his teeth contact skin so they learn when they're playing too rough, but it's so hard to be consistent. Any other ideas?

They learn most effectively with time. If your puppy isnt intentionally trying to hurt you, you should continue to say ow....and maybe you could even walk away from the dog for a min or two to show your upset.

maximum folk handle their canines as people... it quite is fairly straight forward , stay in value each and all the time. you are the %. chief. maximum doggies do no longer 'improve up' and persist with instructions until a minimum of a million year. staying power is often welcome. do no longer feed any canines with human tit-bits as this could be poisonous to them. quite of a neck leash , get a shoulder coach that is going around it quite is midrift , this could be easier for training and keeps the canines happening a straighter line.

if you can't be consistant no advice is going to help because your dog will never understand. consistancy is the key to any training. if your dog knows what will happen every single time they do something, then they will stop. if you vary from this they will continue to do whatever it is because well it may be that one time they get no action.
