about the pitbull issue? i mean am i the only one to understand, if you ban the dog and rid the world of this so called "evil" dog what would happen? that the people causing this breed to have the conotations of danger, and mean, and untrustworthy would just find another breed? and once we've banned all of the big scary dogs, would these same people then be ok with banning shelties, goldens, labs? where are we going to draw the line? when are we going to make the owner responsible? more parents themselves are responsible for the death of childen that any dog. when will we step of and support preventative measures to prevent this? why do we continue to add to the media frenzy and keep on this? any child killed or harmed by any dog is a tragedy, and should be dealt with. why not work on the big issue, and not focus on the fear of the day? take a look at the other breeds of dogs that have attacked, did you see them on the news?

I have just been offered a beautiful puppy for free from the person who owns the parents. Mum is a ridgeback/mastiff and dad is a mastiff/ rott/ridgeback. The little girl is absolutely gorgeous light brindle with black mask and socks and is gonna be huge. Now the problem is that i already have a doberman with skin problems (generalised demodictosis-mange non transmissible) and when i saw the pups mum she had eczema apparently bought on by the pregnancy but i am not sure about that. The puppy has exactly the personality i want as well, i just dont know if i should take on another dog that may or may not have skin problems. I also have 2 kids and a part time job. I really really WANT this pup but SHOULD i take it?

I hate them with a passion. One attacked my dogs recently. They were bred for dog fights and are the dog of choice of tweakers and gangsta types who fight dogs for drug money. I watch only news on TV and read the news daily and cant believe all the pit bull attacks. Google pit bull bite if you dont believe me. Ban these dangerous beasts before one goes after you or your child or dog!

My step dad fought throat cancer 4 14 months & died in Feb day after his birthday! My 16 yr old Husky died in May of liver & spleen cancer. Y did I cry more 4 my pup then 4 my step dad? I knew my step dad longer than my pup! In fact my step dad was the 1 who got me my pup! I know they were close SD (step dad) & pup. She was always by his side even when he died! When they took his body out of the house she tried 2 follow them 2 the herse. I know she was depressed when she went out she tried 2 find his scent in the grass (she followed the EXACT path they took him 2 the herse). When we took her 2 his grave site she tried 2 dig 2 get 2 him we think she still smelled his scent (it was about 2 weeks after he passed away). Y did they both have 2 die from cancer & so close 2gether? I only cried @ my SD's wake/funeral (@ the cemetery) & I cried 4 days after my pup died? Y I don't understand? Any ideas?

I would like to start breeding Labrador Retrievers properly. I have researched the breed thoroughly and have decided that I have enough money to open up a Kennel and start buying my first few (show/breeding quality from excellent bloodlines) Labs. I want to become a good breeder; not some stupid Backyard Breeder. I know everything I need to know about Labs and breeding but I don't know where to start. I wouldn't be able to start breeding for 2 years (so the dogs can grow up) and I'd be interested in opening a kennel PRIOR to breeding my first litter. I have found several Lab breeders in my area (Vic, AUS) selling champion quality Labs for $1400 each and decided to buy my first one. I wouldn't be able to get her for another 4 months as the litter is not due yet and there is a waiting list.
Without insulting me, can anybody tell me where I should start? I own a large house with a large backyard, swimming pool etc. but I also own a house in the country with acreage, near a lake...

We put him in a cage when we leave the house. We've tried squirt bottles. He chews up my underware, bras, pj bottoms, the baby's clothes and toys, plastic hangers, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. He sneaks the stuff under our bed. We even tried blocking him from being able to go under there, he found a way. It's getting old. We even tried gating him in the kitchen, but he ate through the wooden gate and climbed over the 3 foot metal child gate and mesh gate. HELP!!!!!!! Also, he's housebroken and hides and pees from time to time under the kitchen table or our bed. How do we stop that? I'm tired of steam cleaning.

My pup is 14 weeks old and is going to be huge. She has already been told her place by my chiuahias, but when I went to feed her the cat decided to checkout what she had to eat first, the pup laid down and waited to see if the cat wanted it first. I know that dogs and family members are considered part of a pack, but I have never heard of a cat being part of the pack. Has anyone else ever heard of this?
