Though snoring dogs can be somewhat annoying, just as snoring partners are, it's typically not a serious concern. A dog can have a minor obstruction, something like a loose area of tissue in the throat for instance, that is vibrating while he breathes in his sleep, thus causing the snoring. In addition, there are some breeds, like the Pekingese, who are simply more prone to snoring problems.
However, just like in humans, snoring can interrupt sleep patterns. If your dog is snoring loudly and consistently throughout the night or if he appears grouchy or tired during the day, his snoring may be creating a problem. This can often result from allergies or obesity. If allergies are to blame, try to pinpoint the allergen and limit your dog's exposure. If obesity is to blame, get him to lose a few pounds and see if that helps. If, however, the problem persists or otherwise seems severe, you may want to consult with your veterinarian.

No not really. Dogs that are classified as brachical cephalic will snore all the time. My boxers snore allot and I watched my friends English Bulldog for a weekend and he sounded like a poorly tuned chainsaw

No, I don't think you should be concerned about that. What is your dog's breed? If it's a pug or a boxer or any other dog with a squished face then it's typical for these breeds to snore because of the way their 'faces' are.

LOL. I have a dog and she snores too. It's the funniest thing. I really don't think it's a problem. She usually snores when she is reallly tired. Don't think too much into it. Good Luck.

I have this mental image of a pug or bulldog with one of those cone shape collars and a breath-right strip on its nose ... and I'm laughing so hard I almost can't type!

My dog sneezes ... a LOT (he's my first dog). I was surprised how much dogs are like humans. He dreams too! Sometimes I think he's chasing something in his sleep!

Mention it to your vet next time you are there for shots or something, but I wouldn't worry!

It's so cute when my guy sneezes I've tried attaching a command to the sneeze but so far the only one that has been trained is me. Anyone or any dog sneezes and I instantly say the command without even thinking. Now who is the one that got trained ... lol

Snoring in dogs is normal unless it is a pug. With the way pugs breathing canals are they are prone to snroing since the air ways are constricted. If you have a pug, I would consult the vet just to check since the problem just arised. Otherwise, your fine. Take a breath of relief.
