We signed out pup up for puppy socialization 101. The trainer is terrible. She knows next to nothing and offers little to no guidance to those who really need it. I figure my dog still gets to socialize with other pups for an hour so there's a benefit...but I'm paying for lessons and am not learning anything.

P.S. Alternatively we take him to a different place for obedience and the trainer is excellent. There is a definite difference in class quality..

He house broke easily as a puppy, and we have never had a problem. His schedule or environment has not changed. He acts healthy and playful, and does not seem to be upset. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this.

When me and her play, I will toss her ball and she will bring it back but she seems to want to attach my hand and if she can't get to that she wants my foot. She has lots of toys to play with but seems to only want to chew my clothes, fingers, and toes!!!

Last night she came in and after I took my flip flops off she grabs one and starts to run. Then she was chewing on my "tv dinner table". I told her "NO" and she stopped but then after a while started up again. She did this like almost 5 times.

Is this normal puppy behavior??

Recently our 15 week old boxer cross has taken it upon himself to grab any shoes, mittens etc that we keep near the front door. He picks one, runs back to the living room with it and plays with it before going back and getting another one. We tell him no, make it clear his toys are for chewing/playing and not our shoes/mittens/gloves etc.

We've taught him to ring a bell when he needs to go out, so he's not brining us our shoes as a sign to go outside. What would another reason be?

My dog has been having trouble standing up. We took her (2 year old, female beagle) to the vet and they said that she might have a torn or pulled muscle or something. She shakes sometimes and will not get up and has trouble walking. Do you have any suggestions.

Does anyone know where i can find some cute shirts for my very large (140lb) Rottie? Everything i see is too small, even considering the stretch factor! It seems that this market is solely for small dogs!

My vet has my dog on prednisone. I recently read that prednisone is an appetite stimulant. I was under the impression she was on it for the control of her white blood cell count, as she seems to have symptoms of canine lymphoma. Does anyone know? This dog is causing me so much stress I am taking xanax. Stop the insanity!
Thank You

I'm dog-sitting while my aunt is away. Her dog has a urninary condition and must eat a special food called "Urinary S.O.". But my own dog who does not have a urinary condition is always trying to get some of this other specialized kibble. I try to keep her away from it, but sometimes, that little sneak, she gets past me and snags some. So, could it actually be bad for her if she eats it?

I absolutely love my dog and have had him for two years now, problem is that he refuses to house train and I refuse to live with a filthy animal. He only does it once a day, he's let out on a more then regular basis and I have tried pads, cage training, etc....Should I give up on my beloved dog or should I take him to the pound?

okay right outside of my bedroom window our nieghbor i guess you could say has a dog. looks like a black chow in a fence and its house if you want to call it that is the shell of a truck. or the thing that goes over the bed. i live in indiana and it is very cold out and im sure the dogs water has frozen.. if he has any that is. it truely pains me to see him like this and i have heard that people have tried turning the owner in but they said it was fine. is this enough to have someone take the dog from their hands? he is actually a vert good dog and he is kind. i go to pet him sometimes but he stinks horrible. but that is strictly because no one cares for him. all they do is give him food. never get him out or play with him. makes me want to cry. so please help and tell me if this is enough to save him.

My female shihtzu puppy (7months), has been causing a nuisence recently and not coming in from the garden when called, she runs away and when left she chews up the grass and digs holes. Its causing a real problem as today it took 2hours, and even then we had to make her go into the shed with her following a laserpen, and then take her indoors.
Any help would be appreciated.

My 4 yr old femaile shitzu breathes heavily and snores. She is also severely overweight. She is very particular on what she eats and likes kibbles and bits along with Alpo dog food (with gravy). She only eats once a day.

I have a female chihuahua, she will be 2 in May. She was a rescue and has not been spayed. The vet I take her to says I should allow her to have one litter before spaying her. Why? Does it make a difference? And if I do decide to do this, I have to hire a stud through a breeder. What kinds of things should I look at and ask when visiting the breeder? My baby is very different from what people think of when they think chihuahua. She's not shy, loves strangers, very playful, loves kids, loves to be picked up, dressed up, etc. doesn't bark much and never ever tries to snap at or bite anyone, even the little ones who pick her up and maybe are a bit rough with her. She's a golden retriever in a chihuahua package according to the vet! =) I want to make sure her puppies would be well tempered as well. We'd probably keep them all as chi's usually only have 2 or 3 pups.

Any advice? Comments?

Thanks,
Tori
