I rescued a Pomeranian that was abused, brutally. She's 7, and has had it rough. I had infections and teeth out from a doggie dentist, and had her eyes operated on today, which was $400. She got out of the fence twice (she's fast!) $70 apiece. The doctor wants me to take her to a doggie optomotrist now, out of state - none in connecticut - for something else, one of her eyes is cloudy. She's fine otherwise, a little sleepy now though:! and I had the vet bathe, clip and groom her. I am giving her a loving home, but do some vets just go on and on and on referring to specialist after specialist? She has a good quality of life since I got her. A lot of love, treats and spoiling. I'm not sure if I can afford the optomotrist and I feel like a bad mommy. How much in debt would you go for your pet?

I just got a new dog...and she's a little over a year old. I gave her a bone and she chews almost all of it in one day! Is that bone meant to last for a day or several days? Is there a time limit she should be allowed to chew the bone?

i just got a bichon frise last weekend but i am 13 so i have school and myy parents have work. During the week days we leave the house at 7:30 and ge back at 3:40. We are trying to crate train her so we leave her in her cage with her food and water and her toys. Problem is when we get back, she has "accidents" in her cage. It seem that she wants attention. So when I go pick her up she grals and snapps at me. Could it be that i'm not give her enough attenion? What should I do? Someone send the Pup Whisper.

Just wondering how many people acutally take there dog to someone elses house. We have a friend and they bring their dog to our house...and we have cats so you can imagine that it doesn't really go good we have to close our cats up so the dog won't chase them. Anyways just wondering how many dog owners do that? do you ask the before you bring your dog? (not to be offense to any who might be. it is for a narrative essay)

Does anyone know where I should look? I have looked at a few places online and a lot of the dogs are over $1,000 and that is way to much for me to spend. I have also looked at the shelters and not had any luck.

He is seventeen weeks. He is a yorkie/maltese mix weighing four pounds. He is such a cutie. He is not neutered yet. He's been humping his toys....he has particular ones he likes....for weeks now off and on. My vet tells me this is normal and not to worry. She says he is just trying to let his toys know he is in charge. It's hilarious when he does it. My husband and I try to laugh as quietly as we can but it's hysterical sometimes. I've also heard neutering won't solve the problem. I won't do the alpha roll, so please don't give me that advice.

My husband bought a 10lb box of the Milk-Bone dog biscuits, and my older dog who has since passed didn't like them at all...he was rather picky. We now have a 4 month old Lab, who eats anything not nailed down and were wondering if they were still okay to give to him. They are probably a year or so old look and smell fine.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of Reverse Sneeze. I heard it from another yorkie owner and I was wondering if anyone has had a dog or has a dog with this problem. I could use help on determining if my puppy has it or if its just a cold. I talked to the vet and he says hes fine.

My husband and I have a little terrier. I'm concerned how she is going to act around our first baby. She's a really good dog but I'm afraid she is going to be jealous and do something to the baby. She is use to being the only one in our home. What can I do now to train her for the new baby, due in August?
