yea..the little guy is going to bite on everything and chew up just about anything he can, for a while..and i mean a while..while you are away put him/her in the bathroom and the toilet paper up too I suggest. My dog was in a cage that was 5x her size while I was at work and she would tear up everything and her food it seemed was on the other side of the room from where her cage was sitting-people say they will chew things and do things they arent supposed to just to bring you back bc they know they arent supposed to be doing it..just a heads up..but get a poo load of toys and there is some spray you can get thats bitter and theyre not supposed to chew anymore on whatever it is. not sure if it works but its kind of inexpensive.

I asked a similar question a while back when our Lab was 9 weeks old. I got some pretty good suggestions. However, he is still quite the biter and chewer at 4 months old. The teething is one reason for the biting, and Labs in general are chewers...have you tried the Kong toys? Had a trainer tell me in email to put one in the freezer and the cold will help. We had the puppy version to fill or just to have them chew on, but need to get the larger as he is a stronger chewer now. I'll include the link to my question so you can view those suggestions as well.

He is 8 weeks old, and needs to learn from you that biting is not permitted. He learned from his siblings not to bite them, and now he is testing it on you.
When he nips/bites, a firm NO and then give him an appropriate chew toy. DO NOT smack him...he will only learn that your hands are something to be feared and will bite later. Just stop playing, and either walk away or give him a toy.

It is a stage that all pups go through. Take care of it now in a positive, reward-based way, and you'll be so glad you did. Here's a site to help:

I had the same problem.. giving them a chew toy is only going to teach them to chew things up in your house. Give the firm "no" but I would grab their mouth and hold it shut while saying it. My dog stopped biting in a week.

its def a stage..we did the OUCH effect with our puppy. Everytime he bites we say ouch..he bagn to associate ouch with the biting and stopped. The vet also told us to try putting our thumb down on his tongue when he does that and say No. It works. good luck with your little alligator. haha

get hold of a dog trainer so you can get the help you. if you are having so much problems you need to talk to the breeder that you got the puppy from. either get some help or give the puppy back to the breeder. i would suggest getting a older next time.

total stage their baby teeth hurt! weel you can get it more chewies like rawhides and stuff that cleans your dog's teeth that might help but if you want to prove that biting is a bad thing squirt him/her with a spray bottle every time he/ she starts biting ( but not too much because you dog probably just wants to play too and this is just part of the teething phase)

YOU DON'T....
it is an EIGHT-WEEK-OLD puppy dog
while it is learning to play, eat, obey, adjust etc....have something handy to switch if it starts biting your hand.
a good stuffed animal toy or a small rawhide stick will do the trick.
it isn't biting hands on purpose...it is teething.
