you need to start putting the pugs bowl of kibble down. leave it down for about 5 minutes if he does not eat it then pick it up and feed again that evening or the next morning depend on how you feed you dogs. after a day or two he will starting when he figures that is the only food he is going to get. the pug puppy need to be feed in his crate or in another place from the other dog. you might take the older dog to the vet to have his teeth check.

Pugs are little spoil lovable brats. I have 3. I understand you not wanting to give puggy table scraps. I do give my pugs people food. But very good stuff. Old fashioned oatmeal, no sugar or milk, baked sweet potato, green beans and pumpkin.
What I do for my finicky pug is to get old fashioned oat meal, and put cold water in it and let it set for about 1/2 hour to 1 day in a covered dish in the refridgerator. It looses none of it's nutritients that way.
I mix 1/4 of oatmeal with the dried food. They love it. It is good for them, and they have great coats. Pugs tend to over eat so I like it that it is fiber. It fills them out without adding on the pounds.

there is a lot of people saying no people food, but my grandmother did that every meal and her dog live a good old age and died in his sleep. my mother was some people food and dog food. and l have been doing a little studying and found that dog food is really causing a lot of health problems. not all dog food is safe for your dogs. and people food would be safer then most dog food. but l am still doing my study on this. l would not feed it people food if that is what you want. just put the dog food down and no people food. they are all right, it will eat when it gets hungry. l wish you luck. and don't feel bad if he does no eat a meal or two. after all he will be trying to win you over. dogs are not dumb.

DOn't feed him table scraps. Leave the dog food out for him. He WILL eat when he gets hungry. A dog will not starve itself.
You have to be more stubborn then the dog. Also, expect him to vomit a little stomach acid during this time. This is normal. (Excessive vomiting is not normal) When a dog doesn't eat it will vomit....the stomach acid is there to break down food so when a dog doesn't eat.....
Good luck!

You can try canned chicken broth (no salt). Warm up a little of it and put over the dogs food. Gradually decrease the broth and add water until you get down to just water, then gradually eliminate that.
Or
Iams has a gravy (several different kids) that you can drizzle over the dry food.

Simply do not give him scraps...if he is hungry he will eat. nO animal will intentionally starve itself when food is available. When he has changed his habit of eating what you put in front of him then you may start to introduce scraps again, but as a treat. Dogs are really smart, and so you have to let them know you are the boss, and YOU make the demands. Otherwise you are failing before you start.

Just don't give him any human food. When he gets hungry enough he'll eat the dog food, and if he doesn't he's stupider than a melted ice cream cone on a hot summer day.

You should NEVER give a dog people food. Stop doing this permanently and he will get hungry enough to eat his own food. Just leave it out for him and he'll get to it when you least expect it.

oh i have a pug too!
well, that is hard, have you tried the soft dog food? because some dogs only will eat the soft food, and that maybe why he like human food so much, because it's softer.
hope this helps! :)
