I just got a new dog...and she's a little over a year old. I gave her a bone and she chews almost all of it in one day! Is that bone meant to last for a day or several days? Is there a time limit she should be allowed to chew the bone?

My dogs eat every last scrap of their bones. If they are marinated, they are gone in one day. A plain bone lasts forever-they chew on it sporadically.

if its an edible chew bone you get from the store i dont think it really matters how fast they chew it. i dont think it poses any health risks unless if its a chicken bone or something because the grease may harm your dog. just remember dont give your dog chicken bones or any other animal bones.

I only give mine one for about an hour a day. Any longer than that and they tend to get sick later on.

Give her "Denta" bones...they last a long, long time and it's good for their teeth!
