My husband bought a 10lb box of the Milk-Bone dog biscuits, and my older dog who has since passed didn't like them at all...he was rather picky. We now have a 4 month old Lab, who eats anything not nailed down and were wondering if they were still okay to give to him. They are probably a year or so old look and smell fine.

Not only do milk bones expire if not kept in an air tight container, the longer they sit the ingredients in them that make them more shelf stable can calcify and cause kidney stones and urinary problems. I would toss them and limit the amount of milk bones you do give to 1 a day. If you would like to e-mail me I have a recipe for an easy and health dog biscuit.

I would actually feed a better quality dog biscuit. Milk Bones are junk food. Try feeding a biscuit made by a good brand of food, such as Nutro, Wellness, or Innova.

Yeah they should be fine. Look on the box to see if there is an experation date. My dog had a box of milk bones for a 1 1/2 and they are fine.

They do expire but you can tell by the smell if they are still good.

I'd throw them out in case they have mold. They are biscuits and don't cost that much to buy more.

Yes, they expire and you should only feed it to he\she if they smell okay.
