We have an 8-month-old male Jack Russell Terrier that drives me CRAZY. But he is my husband's baby so we can't get rid of him (even though I'd love to). My husband is in the Air Force so he works anywhere from 8-14 hours and day and we have a 3-year-old and I'm also 9 months pregnant, so both my husband and I are too busy to try to train the damn dog ourselves. (Dont ask me what the point of having a dog is if you cant put the time or effort into taking care of it... ask my husband because I dont understand it either)
The only place that trains dogs around here, unless I want to drive 2 hours away, is Petsmart and Petco...Does anyone know about how much they charge for dog training?? Or any advice on how to keep the little over-excited fooker from peeing in the same damn spot every night? Or maybe how to stop acting like a wild beast?? I understand he's a dog but the thing has run of the house (hubby thinks we should treat him like "part of the family"...bleh!) and is just crazy! HELP

I lightly thump her on the nose and say a stern NO when she licks me but she still does it and she lies down and crawls up to my feet and trys to lick my feet and hands. It drives me CRAZY! WHY doesn't she learn that she will get a thump, is she stubborn or is it something else? Suggestions?

We took our 4 month old puppy to the vet to get dewormed for the first time, we noticed he had worms because they were in his droppings, and now he's starting to vomit a slimy liquid mixed with his food. We didn't notice anything unusual in his vomit, but we just wanted to know if this is normal after he's been given his medication. All the vet gave was a pill, also he is taking treatment for a infection in his ear, but thats not taken orally...

I need help naming my new puppy. He will only be 8 - 12 pounds and he is an apricot pekepoo.

These are our favorites: Rosco, Simon, Lucky, Marley, and Truman.

Which do you like out of these?
And any other suggestions would be great!!! Thanks!

We've tried kennel training her, rubbing her nose in it and putting her outside and spanking her and putting her out. She will go out to pee and poop and come right back in and poop and pee everywhere she can! My husband and I are at our wits end and have run out of patience. He wants to put her outside but I don't want to put her out in the cold. I want an inside dog!!! how can I fix it!!! she pees and poops all the time! Most times 3 or 4 times in an hour! PLEASE HELP!

Im really scared my cute little puppy will grow up to be mean and bite all the time. I had a small dog once growing up that was a great puppy but became viscious at an older age. Any advice to keep my small breed pup from becoming a terror animal.

My Jack Russell is just 11 weeks old and is 8lbs, when we got her she seemed considerably bigger than her sisters. When can I expect her to be fully grown? I had not expected her to be as big this early. Is this within normal range....Any advice or suggestions appreciated...... P.S...she is a JRT....Not a mix......

We picked a male puppy Polish Shipdog last year. I admit i was too much rough to him and just afew days ago he bit my partner and then me.

When i say it bit us, i really mean it. He did it intentionally. It was very deep and serious. If i had gone to doctor, they would made some stiches.

Anyway, we had left no choice but to give him away and we did it 2 days ago. My partner is now sad like hell, me too :( but we had no choice. did we ? it was dangerious and we could not trust him anymore, although it was my fault that things ended up like this and made him so aggressive to do such thing.

Now my question is: we loved our dog and still do. Is it normal and common that we get another one ? I mean, do people usually do that, when they give their dogs away, do they think of getting another one nad make things better ?

( Of course this time i know how to behaive and would not be as stupid as i was before with him)

Please answer, only if you are experienced or dog trainer..

it's really cute, my son wears a firemans hat and makes believe he is driving a fire engine. the question I have is that we tie the rope for the dog to tow the cart around the dogs scrotum, I have been told that this is not very good for the dog. How do I tie the rope somewhere else but still have a siren?
