My Jack Russell is just 11 weeks old and is 8lbs, when we got her she seemed considerably bigger than her sisters. When can I expect her to be fully grown? I had not expected her to be as big this early. Is this within normal range....Any advice or suggestions appreciated...... P.S...she is a JRT....Not a mix......

Oh that's easy, I have two and they vary a lot. No 8lbs isn't abnormal mine is like ten and the other is like 6 or 7. she is an abnormally small runt, but who cares! because i love her and she doesn't have a single problem because shes the best JRT in the world. so what if she's small and disqualified in show, it doesn't matter. but as to affecting her health, no prob. so don't worry I'm sure your pup is just fine. mine is 3yrs old so no worries home bro. Your Jack is purebred but does he have papers? If she is from a registed responsible breeder go have a look at the standard here http://www.terrier.com/jrtca/standard.php3 The 25cm-30cm (10-12 inch) Jack Russell Terrers in Australia (Russell Terrier in America) pretty much stop growing when they are 6 months but they may grow an inch till they are 9 months after that they "fill out" and mature. I think the Jack Russell would be simliar tolar to the 12-15 inch Parson Russell (standard http://www.ankc.aust.com/pjackrus.html) in Australia.

There are ADULTS that aren't much bigger!
YOU got SCREWED!!!
Dogs reach mature height at 9-10 months & continue to add bulk until TWO YEARS!

do some research there are some different sizes of these dogs from little to the size of alarge beagle. the best friend you will ever have the heart of a lion
