My crystal ball seems to be broken.... Perhaps a trip to the vet could solve the mystery.

Keep an eye on it, has your pup jumped off the couch or anything like that recently??? I have a 9 week old pup and we got her at 6 weeks and she has no fear what so ever! she would constantly jump off things no matter what we did. She would end up limping around for a couple of hours then be fine. So just keep a close watch on your pup if it doesn't improve within a couple of days then take her to the vet cause she may have just sprained it.

There are several orthopedic problems that Chihuahua's are susceptible to: luxating patellas (kneecaps slide out of place), Legg-Calves-Perth disease (where the blood supply to the head of the femur is interfered with and the bone dies). Then there are potential injuries... did the pup jump or fall from any height - and height for a 7 week old Chihuahua is anything higher than it is tall. It could have sprained something or even gotten a greenstick fracture (where the bone doesn't completely break). You need to get the little darlin to a vet asap! Good luck

Could be a birth defect, like someone mentioned. Do you allow him to jump off couches and beds? Most vets suggest toy breeds should never jump on or off furniture until they are 1 year old, because their bones are soft and delicate and can easily fracture on the impact of landing. If you think he may have jumped or fallen, you should get him to a vet for x-rays. Also, look very closely at his feet, move the pads around, and see if he has something small embedded in his foot that could cause him pain. No matter what, if he's limping he should see a vet.

You should take him to the vet if he is really limping, but watch him all the time real close. He may be pretending. If he has been scolded, (and usually are being potty trained at this age) he will limp for sympathy. Ours is almost two years old now, and still limps when being scolded. She will walk on three legs with her head down to get attention. (It works for her, maybe i'll try it?

Sounds your pup got hurt somehow, I would really recommend for you to take her to the vet asap. If it is a fracture you want to catch it right away to avoid a long term disability to your pup. Remember this breed can be easily fractured do to it being so tiny specially due to the age. That's is the only way you will find out THE VET!!!

Take the chi-chi to the vet!
I have 2 chiuaua's, 1 long hair, and 1 double coated tea cup.
the tea cup had the same problem, and also slept or laid around more than usual. I never took her to the vet, I should have, because it turned out that she had a broken leg. by the time I had realized it, her leg healed crooked.

Did somebody step on his foot? Did he get it cought in a door? Mostly those things heal. Did someone drop a squirming pup because they failed to hold it tightly enough? This can cause hip displacia and won't heal; such female should not be bred because the h.d. can make carrying a litter difficult for the pregnant *****.

you may want to get avet to check him out. We had a poodle pup that began doing that and found out that his backbone had grwn down into his hind leg. He was like this at birth. so if you paid a lot for your dog, then I wouuld also suggest going back to the person you bought the puppy from and request a new puppy or your money back, of course that is if you find this to be the cause.

He may have landed wrong jumping off the furniture, or pulled a ligament-or he may have really bad knees. Chi's tend to have bad knees.

Please take the cutie to a vet.
