More details: My cat doesn't use a litter box anymore, and has always gone outside on his own when he needs to go to the bathroom. Now that I have been closing the window at night, Jack the Cat is either stuck inside, or I don't want him stuck outside in the winter cold without a way in. I am not always around to let him in/out, but this was never a problem until the racoons discovered the dry cat food & water source in my house by coming in the cat door. For the first time, last night I was not home, and Jack was stuck in the house without a way out, and he had an accident on the carpet. He is an 8yr old cat, and never had this problem before, and it is only because I was not there to open the cat door for him. I'm thinking about putting a litter box back in, just for these occasions, but I can not be held captive to these raccoons for the rest of our lives! Any advice????

is it true that if you cut some of them off that the cat will lose its balance and it would probably get stuck in tight places more often??

I want to adopt this cat, male, but it has Feline Leu. Can it spread on to humans? I want to know because I'm kind of afraid and unsure.

One of my cats had kittens and one of her kittens won't eat any cat food. We have to give her food with dairy in it. What are some of the reasons why she won't eat?

So we have adopted a new ketten about 2 weeks ago. My 1 1/2 yr old cat took verynicely to her after a few hours and now she cleans the kitten and lets her snuggle with her as well as teaching her the ropes when it comes to playing tuff. My question is although I find this behavior sweet and cute, is this a typical cat behavior? Do spayed females usually assume a motherly role with new kittens or are my cats just being kitties with no genetic behaviors involved.

Please no responses telling me to be happy or anythin like that. I am happy I am glad they get along, I am looking for the science in this behavior.

We love on her and pet her All the time!
But it seems that, when shes awake, all she wants to do is play... and when you try to pet her she just bites (playing)...
Is this normal?

My cat has a habit of when his litterbox is dirty because I am often not home, he pee's on my bed, but he just did that but I have just cleaned his litterbox. I'm afraid there may be somthing bothering him, I dont want to have to give him away but if he keeps peeing on my stuff I may have to.

I'm noticing that my cats appetite has increased. We feed him two scoops (a total of a cup) of dry Iams indoor cat formula at around 9pm at night along with a teaspoon of wet beef in gravy food. This is the only time he is fed. I've been noticing that when I wake up on the morning, his food is all gone. He would usually leave food to snack on throughout the day, but it appears as if he's eating all his food within a 2-3 hour period of time now.

He is around 5-6 years old and has a saggy belly. He weighs around 12 lbs and is 100% an indoor cat.

I've been reading about diabetes and can't say that i've seen an increase in his water intake, just the food.

Just need some advice or insight on why my cat is all of the sudden eating all his food right away.

Thanks

I adopted a two year old cat last year. we have bonded quite well during the last year. The only problem is that he wont let me hold him. I know the proper way to hold a cat (supporting it by the hind legs, etc) but my cat always squirms whenever I him hold him or try to pick him up. Any suggestions out there?

i lost a cat 30 mos. ago. she wandered a lot when she was a kitten even after 2 weeks she came back. i have looked at her many a time when she crossed the street but she actually looked both ways (im actually serious)
she is my favorite cat but i think that the reason that she ran away is that she was at my dads house but she had to move to my moms b/c of an allergic stepbrother. but she has visited my moms house before and once she ran away from it and 4 days later (3 minutes after my mom had called me and made me bawl my eyes out) she came back. she always comes when she is called and i really want her back. is there still hope? my dads house is only 4 miles away so is there a chance that she is still finding her way there? tips for finding her? should i be posting flyers? should i be looking in shelters? shes a very friendly kitty so do you think that someone could have taken her in? her name is luna. if someone could give me tips that would be great. thank you!. i need her!!!!!!!!

Hello. I have 2 cats.

I think one of my cats is deaf but I am not sure. He doesn't seem to respond to me anymore, and his ears don't really move like they use to.

He has bathroom problems, and I think he has some kind of cancer - he is getting very old.

How can I do like official tests to see if he is deaf?

I was getting tired of constantly petting and playing with my kitty, who is seekinng a lot of attention recently. I bought her some new toys to play with, but my kitty doesn't seem to like them as well as I had hoped. Is it ok to return the toys I've bought for my kitty, if she has already tried them out. I still have the receipts?
