I felt badly because I didn't get my pet anything. Couldn't seem to find an appropriate toy. I still need ideas on what toy to buy or make for her.

~~~ Tiki got a catnip bag with Morris the Cat's picture on it & one of those scratcher/batting toys. His Cousin had sent him three Christmas mice earlier in the month & he seems to like them more than what Santa brought him. He also really enjoyed playing in the large shoebox with wrapping inside that I had used to wrap my Step-Son's gift in. I'm going to get him some of those furry toy mice one of these days,because all the cats I've had in the past loved those. His all time favorite toy he has now is a Teddy Bear looking mouse that is attached by elastic to the door. He plays with it and attacks it for hours,which is good because he is an indoor only cat and it's a great way for him to get exercise. And it's fun to watch him go bonkers playing. ~~~
Our cat ignores toys.
She'll play with a wad of newspaper, pieces of styrofoam popcorn, rubber bands, and any small living creatures she can catch (mice, birds), but no cat-toys.
She is rather fond of an old knotted rope, which she uses to hone her pouncing skills.
I have 4 cats. I got one of them a toy, they don't really play w/their toys much anyway. I got one a box of canned food, another a package of treats. And my 4th cat I got a food dish, we haven't had her very long and she didn't have her own dish yet. Two of my cats like to play with the small mice you can get, they actually play fetch with them. That's fun!
get him a red laser toy. You can find them at Pet Co/Pet smart etc. They come in different shapes and have a red laser light that you can point on the floor, wall etc and watch him chase it like crazy. My cats love it. Just be sure not to point the laser at his or anybody else's eyes.
