A urinary infection makes a cat pee anywhere because they 'have to go' at any moment. That can be cleared up with medicine.
Protect your bed--just get one of those cheap shower curtains from the Dollar store and lay it over your bed if you think there's a chance he'll use the bed again.
Your quilt may have needed to be washed, also--it touches yoru face when you sleep, and that makes the quilt pick up heavy odors from face oils, to the cat this would be one of the smelliest places in the house and a good litter box substitute, in their minds. Shoes and socks/laundry rates a second and third place. Just because we don't smell it doesn't mean it's not hugely pungent to the cat.

He pees on your bed because his litterbox stinks. Hes got an excellent sense of smell and knows well enough not to go trampling in his own mess. You need to empty the box out more often, and clean the bottom with bleach.
If this goes on for a while, your cat will see p1ssing on your bed as normal, and eventually stop using his box. It sounds to me like this is beginning to occur.
Not much you can do except ask a neighbor or friend to help clean his box when you arent around, and hope he breaks the bed wetting habit.
I'm assuming of course, that he used to be fine with this. If hes never peed in his box correctly then there could be other factors. Some things to try (that I listed on another question):
Did its mother teach it to use the litter tray? Perhaps it was weaned too soon.
Try relocating the tray to somewhere else. Cats like privacy when they're on the loo.
Try a different litter.
Get one of the covered litter trays, and take the door off. Your cat will feel safer if it cant be seen.
Cats are clean creatures, and you should remove old litter as soon as its 'dropped'. If there is any kind of buildup, they'll go elsewhere to relieve themselves.

He could have a urinary tract infection or he could be upset with you.
Have him checked by a vet to rule out a medical problem.
Consider having 2 boxes if you are unable to clean it every day.
Give him plenty of attention and make sure he has plenty of toys to keep him occupied. Does he have a window to look out of? If not, open blinds and out of a kind of perch for him to look out of.
Close your bedroom door so he cannot go in the bedroom.

If he isn't fixed, he might also be 'marking his territory.' It's a well known fact that male cats spray. Sometimes they still do even after they are fixed. You might want to consider finding him a new home.

Please take him to the vet. We had the same issue and it turned out to be an urinary infection which had to be treated with antibiotics. He has been fine ever since then. Good luck and a happy 2008

If it's when his litterbox is dirty, then there's your problem, cats hate dirt, they are very clean animals. Try getting a self cleaning litterbox or something

Maybe the box isn't clean enough for kitty standards. Or, maybe the kitty is having trouble urinating and is in pain, and associates the litter box with pain. Go to the vet.
