I don't know whats wrong with my cats. Most of the cats that are sick have just been fixed one of the kittens though hasn't been fixed. A few months ago one of my cats started to throw up and he wouldn't eat or drink ANYTHING at all. He's a outside cat and he had just been fixed before he got sick. He went outside one day and never came back. He ALWAYS comes back. Now more of them are sick. One of the cats she's like 3 years old or more then theres another one that is almost a year old then theres 3 kittens. One of the kittens that have it last night he died within hours of all this. This is what happens. They start throwing up they wont eat they wont drink and their lips and gums are a pale color.. Does ANYONE know ANYTHING about this or what it is and what I need to do???????????????? Help!!!!!

I know males are very aggressive and would kill it without a doubt, but do you think female lions or any other type of big cat would?

I just adopted two female four month old kittens. They are both all black, long haired, and look very much alike. I'm having a hard time picking names for them. I think matching names would be cute. Any ideas?

We can not take care of each other. We can not feed all the people on the planet but here in America millions are being spent to catch, sterilize, release and feed feral cats. Where are our priorities ?

This has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard of. These people are animal lovers, but they prefer cats over song birds, chip monks, rabbits, and all the other NATIVE animals that feral cats kill by the billions. Whole species have been wiped out by cats.

This notion that putting sterilized cats back into the wild keeps other, non sterilized cats from taking their place is bogus. If you put sterilized cats in one place it just forces the non sterilized ones to move to a second place.

Seriously if you are putting food in feral cat's mouths, it is not going to the mouths of starving PEOPLE.

We have a 16 Year Old Male. This morning we found him laying on the floor not moving, he was breathing and all but wagging his tail and moaning here and there. We found throw up on the floor and poop on the floor with drop of blood on the poop. It is a Sunday and the Vet is going to charge us big time! What do you think is going on?

Willie, my 10 month old kitten keeps stealing the other cat's food. He goes as far as to rip it right from their mouths! I have 5 cats and the others are older and bigger than him. Should I intervene and put him up till the others eat or just let one of them eventually get tired of it and teach him a lesson? They all get plenty to eat and Willie will leave his food to run over and snatch somebody elses. Poor little Allie had a shrimp in her mouth and Willie just grabbed it out of her mouth!

I have a cat with an enlarged heart. I'm curious to see how long they can survive with this condition, based on other owners. We do not give him medication because it made his coughing spells worse. He acts normal and is happy. I'm just wondering if anyone else has a cat with this condition and a rough life span on the little fellows.

I have a girl and boy cat from the same litter, a year old, both sterilized. The boy is very outgoing, playful and comfortable around strangers, the girl is extremely timid, shy and hides when strangers are around. They are almost always fine with each other, they clean each other and sleep next to each other, etc., but the boy loves to instigate wrestling with the girl.

She wrestles back, but sometimes it seems like it is getting out of control. I have never had cats before so I don't know if they are playing. They get very rough with each other, hiss and make loud yowling noises, but the next second the girl just lays down like shes tired of it and the boyloses interest and will often start licking her head or ears. there has never been any blood or torn out fur, but the yelping gets pretty intense like human sounds! Are they playing or should I stop them? And if I break them up, do I scold just the boy who started it or both of them?

i'm watching these two cats, both male kittens, with claws. im not sure of either of their ages, but they were both brought into the house on the same day. i highly doubt they're brothers; ones an orange tabby and the other is a brown tabby with a full white stomach. the problem is they are biting each other and jumping on each other. should i be concerned or just let it be and say its just a kitten instinct?

We recently adopted a cat and want to bring her to the vet for a "wellness" visit that we want to do annually. I'm not familiar with the average cost of check-ups at the vet so I'd just like to know what to expect. I believe she is also due for certain vaccinations, but the vet's website says those are part of the wellness visit. Does anyone have any insight on average vet costs? Thanks!

BUT, yet there are people who go trap the wild cats, spend the money to go have them neutered, and RELEASE THEM BACK INTO THE WILD. They feed them, but still cats eat anything that moves.

In a world where PEOPLE are starving and dying by the millions why in the world are we saving feral cats.

They are not even from America, they are an introduced species. They are nothing more than weeds.

I hope everyone has managed to convince the pregnant lady that she will be fine and she takes her cat back into her home however I just wanted to inform you all that you should not presume you are immune just because you have cats, handle raw meat or garden.

After 12 years of being a veterinary nurse handling some of the most dirty cats you can imagine and also being a gardener I presumed I would be immune but while I was having a blood test for something else decided to get tested for toxoplasmosis immunity at the same time as I was planning my second pregnancy. I discovered I was NOT immune. If you follow basic hygiene rules like washing your hands before eating, after gardening, after handling cats, litter trays etc then it is unlikely you will be immune.

For the person in a previous question who said 90% of us are immune - if a veterinary nurse is not immune then I very much doubt that 90% of the population are.
