My one cat seems to always throw up. It throws up sometimes 3 times a day. I sthere something wrong. Other than that he's a normal cat really active and loves to be center of attention. It's also 9 years old.

If kitty is 9 years old and vomiting this frequently, make an appointment for a wellness check with his vet. This is the age when the senior kitty illnesses start to appear, such as diabetes, hyperthyroidism and kidney failure.

Other symptoms to watch for are extreme appetite, but loosing weight; extreme thirst and excessive urination; and unkempt or scraggly looking coat. All these are common to all the illnesses. They can be easily diagnosed with a senior blood screen and urinalysis. Please make an appointment soon.

Purrs to you and kitty.

There's a food for sensitive stomachs, it helps cats who gulp their food then barf it up too. Royal Canin Siamese 38, it's $11 a bag (one bag lasts a month for one cat).

My vet had us put my 16 year old 1/2 siamese male on a quarter tablet of Pepcid twice a day because he was throwing up regularly. It helped a LOT, I tapered back to once a day but whenhe starts shedding I have to up it back to twice a day, or he throws his food up during the day as well.

This sounds like hyperthyroidism or early stage kidney failure. Kitty needs to go to the vet as soon as you can. Both possible causes are quite common particularly in a cat that age. The diagnosis is quite simple and the treatment easy on owner and cat.

It really does sound like hairballs. Like the others suggested, switch to a food made for sensitive stomachs or hairball relief. You can also buy a paste at the pet store that comes in beef or seafood flavor that helps relieve hairballs. Cats love to lick it right out of the tube! Try Kittymalt Hairball Remedy Paste.

If the cat vomits hair and/or food, and seems healthy otherwise, it may simply need a good hairball medicine. If the condition started recently, has worsened, or causes the cat to stop eating or drinking, you need to see a vet.

Melissa's advice about daily brushing is very good too.

Could be furballs but if it's happening all the time I would take him to see the vet.
