One of my cats had kittens and one of her kittens won't eat any cat food. We have to give her food with dairy in it. What are some of the reasons why she won't eat?

She is either stubborn or like the other answer said it hurts her teeth/mouth. You could either wet her food, buy her canned food, or buy her hard food but for kittens.

Kittens typically require food with a higher level of protein (for growing muscles and bones) than older cats. They might be able to share the same treats; but not a regular diet that would be equally beneficial and tailored for both. If you just adopted the kitten a couple days ago, s/he should probably still be confined to a specific room or small area of the house while they get accustomed to the change. Not only that, but the presence of an older, established cat in the house will add to the kitten's anxiety. Since it's best to gradually introduce them (not all at once), you might find it easier to feed the kitten (while he's by himself) at the same time. Other than that, I don't see any way to keep the kitten and cat from eating out of each other's food bowls. One or the other must be segregated at feeding time. If you designate an established feeding time -- at least twice (preferably more often) per day for your kitten -- instead of feeding both of them "free choice" (with dry food) all day long, they shouldn't have to be isolated for very long at a time.

Just like humans, cats are individuals. Their sense of smell is what draws them in, and perhaps this food doesn't smell enough, or doesn't smell good. Or perhaps it just doesn't like the taste. Just try another brand/flavor of food.

But whatever you do, don't try to starve it into submission. That's always dangerous but for a kitten would be even worse.

Cats can be picky. Maybe something in it she smells and doesn't like. Continue putting some milk for a while, but be careful about the dairy because it can cause diarrhea.
And try some other brands/blends. My cat did not like tuna.

maybe the food is too hard on her teeth?? if this is the case, try adding spring water to her food right before giving it to her, to soften it up. or maybe, she is a finicky kitten, and just doesnt like the food given.
