I think my cat is pregnant but i am not for sure. She sleeps a lot more! also she kinda goes through moodswings. Like yesterday she was a lot more loving than usual. and today, when i try to pick her up she just runs away. but the last time that i no of her being in heat was 2 months ago. so if she got pregnant then, then she would have already had the kittens or would have looked more pregnant than wat she does now. So my question is, can you always tell when your cat is in heat or do the sometimes kind of hide it more where you cant tell at all???

In Texas, is there behavior or conditions when domesticated animals can be treated like vermin... Loose cats are constantly urinating and defecating in the flower beds that i work in. This should be a health hazard and be considered as an act with places my safety at risk. Trapping and impounding isnt changing owner behavior. Looking for a more permanent (and legal) solution. My lawn smells of cat urine, i can't even open my windows or doors due to the smell.

My cat is about 8 years old, he's an inside cat, and only is outside when he escapes every once in awhile... For about 6 months now he crouches down and coughs... kinda like the kind you just can't get out. It doesn't necassarily sound painful, just yucky... What could this be? I know I need to take him to the vet and I will, but I'm just wondering what I should expect.

This is actually my friend's cat that we're babysitting and MY cat doesn't do this. This cat is calico and has long fluffy hair. She doesn't scratch alot and she's not losing any hair. I've checked her for ear mites. I don't know what this is and it's grossing me out!

I had this kitten from the day it was born... It's a girl, and I originally named her Convict. I wanna rename her though... but I want it to match her personallity.

She is rambunctous(sp), loves playing with my pup, curious, not a lover unless it's her time, very selective on her peson, rough and tough, escape artist.

It's a girl!!

here's a slideshow of her and her favorite buddy.

By the way, my pup, her best friends name is Roxy, try and go with that a bit...

Got any ideas on a name??

If I choose your name, I'll put u as best answer!

I am thinking about adopting a kitten from our local MSPCA. Well, I would like your opinions on both male and female kittens. I am thinking on getting a male, as I was told they are more affectionate than females, but I have heard so much on both genders i dont know what to think. You see, I would like a cat that will curl up on your lap and grow very attached to their owner. I've heard this and that, but I want to hear what you think about each genders sort of reputation. Thanks again!

I adopted a cat and every time I leave he will cry and cry. The crying wont stop when I leave, and it is the saddest sound ever.
I am living with some roommates in a house, and while they love him, I am sure that the crying gets annoying after a while, how can I get him to stop?

My newest cat I found in the parking lot of a hardware store. He was around 6/8 weeks old at the time.He had dried blood on his face from a wound on his nose and was shaking bad.I could not resist bringing him home. He is 8 months now and so sweet. The problem started about 2 weeks ago...he is humping any stuffed animal he comes across. It was sorta funny at 1st but now....lil sick.I tried boxing up the stuffed animals and now he humps the throw pillows on the couch.I have had a few cats in my time....never have any of them done this. I should add that he is strictly an inside pet.He hasnt went outside since I brought him home,he freaks out when I open the front door.He is terrified of going outside.I think he has issues from when he was abandoned.Any ideas how to stop him from doing it?

With the arrival of our son, we had to relocate the litter box & food to the basement. Kato is fine with it, but Spike is totally scared of the basement. He has dropped weight & will use the old litter box location half the time (no box there any more). He is very outgoing, but something must have happened to make him scared of the basement. If I carry him down, he will barely move from where I set him down & he cries & howls. I have stayed there with him for hours trying to get him calm & used to it, shut them both down there at night, etc... Nothing is working. He still goes in our 2nd floor regularly. We do not have other places to put the litter & we are too urban to let him out. He is an amazing cat & is so good with my 10 month old. I love him dearly, but we have to get him to stop or he will be going to a new home. PLEASE help me to help my little guy. He will go down occasionally, but not often.

For the last month and a half my mom and me have been feeding a mother cat and her two kittens. We're about 99.99999% sure the mother cat was once a house cat because she knows exactly how to use a litter box and shes not afraid of us at all. Yesterday we got them to come in our house by leading them in with food and than shut the door. They spazzed, but I knew that would happen. We took them to the vet, got all their fleas removed, and got the mom her rabies shots. The vet said their only about 9 weeks old. My question here is, how do we gain trust from the kittens, their both terrified, and one will hiss even if you look at her. The mom has no problem with us touching her or her babies and is the sweetest cat ever.

We're trying to gain trust from them so we can give them to good homes. Any suggestions on how to get them to trust us?

when my cat had 4 kittens on april 1st of this year, I decided to keep 2 of them. Mama has no milk left, and her babies are almost as big as her, and they both will try nursing off her once in a while!!! Is this normal, and are they just doing it for security reasons?? Mama does not let them try for long ,she either swats at them, or runs away...

He dreamily stares at my son and purrs loudly when ever he walks into the room. He will follow him and meow, demanding attention and even trys to "kiss" him. No one else in the family gets this kind of attention from the cat. I am just curious as to why the cat acts this way around my son and no one else.

I don't know what is going on, had this kitten only a coupe days. He is 9 weeks old, has cried a lot since we have had him, a lot more then normal. Last night he had an accident and pooped on the chair, it was a yellow/tan color and a mashed potato consistancy. Tonight all of a sudden he looked dead, no motor control, mouth open gasping for air, going to the bathroom on himself with blood in his poop. had 2 use cpr on him as he was not breathing. He began to breath, he was making a weird noise and taking a big gasp of air once and a while. He was still limp. His eyes were fixed and his mouth was staying open. I swore he was dead. All of a sudden he started to meow and move around. He is not walking right, its as if his equallibrium is off. He cries a lot, and he non stop sleeps. He moved around quite a bit and I thought he was coming around, when all of a sudden he colopsed into this extremely deep sleep again. He actually falls down asleep in my hands. What in the world could be wrong

Last night,I heard a kitten meowing, and at first I thought I was hearing things, but then my German shepherd, who loves cats, ran to the back door and started whining.I opened the door and there were two tiny kittens, about 4 weeks old, climbing out of a box that had been left on my back porch.I was SO mad, because this brings the total to 4 kittens that I have saved in 3 months, and I already have 13 cats.I can't find homes for these kittens, either.I've tried finding homes for the other two,and no one wants kittens. There are TOO MANY.If whoever owned the mother of these two had gotten her fixed, then I wouldn't have them to take care of.Now,my other cats are upset because there are strange kittens in the house,I had to buy yet MORE kitten food and milk replacer, and I'll in all likelyhood have to pay to get them fixed and vaccinated.I am by no means rich;I have finacial problems out the wahoo, but I would not leave these kittens outside to die. This is why everyone should fix their pets. Agree?
