Last night,I heard a kitten meowing, and at first I thought I was hearing things, but then my German shepherd, who loves cats, ran to the back door and started whining.I opened the door and there were two tiny kittens, about 4 weeks old, climbing out of a box that had been left on my back porch.I was SO mad, because this brings the total to 4 kittens that I have saved in 3 months, and I already have 13 cats.I can't find homes for these kittens, either.I've tried finding homes for the other two,and no one wants kittens. There are TOO MANY.If whoever owned the mother of these two had gotten her fixed, then I wouldn't have them to take care of.Now,my other cats are upset because there are strange kittens in the house,I had to buy yet MORE kitten food and milk replacer, and I'll in all likelyhood have to pay to get them fixed and vaccinated.I am by no means rich;I have finacial problems out the wahoo, but I would not leave these kittens outside to die. This is why everyone should fix their pets. Agree?

Oh,and I meant to write that when you don't get your cats fixed,it affects people, like me and others who rescue abandoned animals. Why should we have to pay for your mistakes?

Oh,I would love to call someone and report the people who abandoned them ( I'm almost positive it was my neighbors),but, due to budget cuts ,there is no Humane Society or ASPCA in our county, and the ones in the adjacent counties are full to bursting with kittens.Even the "no kill" shelters are full and one shelter is euthanizing entire litters for lack of space and foster homes, and the police have no say in the matter,"it's not their problem." I just think it's so sad. And,to the person who suggested spaying and neutering people,I agree whole -heartedly.Too many children suffer because of ignorant, uncaring and cruel parents. And the ones who survive end up acting just like their parents.

I totally agree and wish there were more people like you. I volunteer with a no-kill shelter and find our adopt-a-thon days fun and rewarding but sometimes futile as well. We could have a great day adopting out cats but the next day three litters of kittens have ended up at the shelter - one litter surrendered and two tossed out just like trash.

I know exactly how you feel...I have rescued many cats over the past 7 years and I have a houseful myself, but I found a pregnant stray and now she is in my home about ready to give birth (I couldnt let her outside to give birth) she is pregnant with 5 Im going to do whatever I can to find homes for them and have her spayed (all mine are spayed/neutered) I feel for you , but you are a good person...try some vet's offices ask if you can post a sign for free kittens...good luck

Goodness are they adorable! But yes, I agree. People need to be more responsible. If you are not prepared to give your "mistakes" a permanent home if you can't place them, then dear god please have them fixed! Thank goodness there are people out there who are willing to clean up others messes. I am there too....I have way more than I should, but they are all well cared for even though I myself don't have alot. What slays me is that more often than not it's those of us who really do care and take good care of the critters that get in trouble and cited, but those who are irresponsible and dump pups and kittens on others get away with it.....

I agree completely.

Gee, we should use this policy with people, too. Think of all the unwanted, abandoned, abused little kids out there. Wouldn't it be better if we just spayed and neutered people? We could solve the problem, just like with our cats and dogs. We love them all the same, don't we? It could end all manner of suffering in the world: Homelessness, poverty, starvation...Child Protective Services would love that idea, and so would millions of tax payers.

I think we should strongly encourage this kind of thinking.

Definitely. My two cats were stray kittens. The one was even hit by a car because someone dumped her by the side of the road. She had to have one of her front paws amputated but gets around fine. And she is the sweetest cat in the world, and some *** just left her there to die.

My thoughts exactly. All my boys are neutered and I got them done as soon as. apart from the kitten problem I don't think people realize that their pet will live longer once it has been done. I hope things go ok for you. I think you should get onto the ASPCA though that is what they are there for.

it's absolutly fake. if you're making plans to spay or neuter a puppy then simply wait till they have got a minimum of one muddle of dogs first, for the reason that they have got as so much of a correct as we do. PLEASE WAIT {:(

Oh my. That's so sad. Thank you so much for your open heart and kind spirit. I can't believe people can be so mean to their animals. It makes me so sad and angry to hear about thinks like this. I hope the babies make it. Good Luck and Bless you

Good question.. Hope it makes it to those who should be reading and asking themselves why they don't spay and neuter...

They are so cute. Thanks for doing so much for them. It is sad to see how many irresponsible pet owners are out there.
