Hello i just adopted a 16 weeks old kitten 4 days ago and the previous owner said he had a cold and got treated with Antibiotics about 2 weeks ago. He is very playful, runs and eats a lot but his eyes seem to get worse. First it was only one eye which was halfways open .now both eyes seem pretty bad...i think he had/has the cat flu...why is it getting worse? Can he get blind? I think i should make an vet appointment asap, what do you think? I am also worried that my other cat which will be released from quarantine in 2 months will get infected . Is there still a risk after 2 months? Thanks

shes an indoor cat,so i dont how she got them.ive given her a flea bath a couple times myself(which is damn near impossible to do since she doesnt cooperate at all) and also took her in for a professional flea bath.i vaccumed the heck out of the house as well.i only see the fleas on her,i havent seen them anywhere else.she has the little flea poops in her hair(shes a long haired cat) and little red blood marks on some spots of her body.i just put a flea collar on her today.i want to get rid of these things quick and inexpensively so she doesnt get sick or something.shes miserable and always scratching,i try to pick them off her if i see them, but so far nothing is completely doing the trick.im starting to get annoyed and also concerned for my cats health.any ideas, shoot!

mine has 2, a baby bat and a kitten. it is so cute because when we are away for a long time he will find them and bring them up onto our bed. he also does that with his favorite blanket. sometimes he only makes it 1/2 way to the bed because the blanket is kind of big.

I'm appalled by the number of Americans who actually think it isn't selfish to declaw their cats in order to protect their (dead) furniture. What is wrong with you people!!! Shame on you for considering such a barbaric practice

Felines are NOT objects to be physically altered to fit our lifestyle, that's a disgusting practice. Treat your felines with respect and accept them for who (that's right I said who, not it) they are.

This link will answer your questions about whether it's "ok" to have indoor cats declawed, I think you'll find that there are very good reasons not to do so.

he sits and kinda looks over at the wall and the ceiling and loows back at us and meows

hes been doing this for a little while and ive been ignoring it

on that side of the basement he always sits in front of an open storage box full of home videos tapes and pictures
hes doing it right now as i'm typing

so earlier i put him in the box to see if thats what he wanted and when i took him out he was purring

I have 2 cats. One is an angel, and the other is a lil terror. He has created such problems for me. But I love him dearly!! The landlord said, either the problem cat goes, or i will be evicted. He doesn't use his kitty box like he is supposed to. I have tried several different things. I changed litter brands. Got the expensive Dr. Elselys brand. I have 4 kitty boxes that I change daily. I put down foil where there are the most problem areas. I have sequestered him in the back room. I have also taken him to the vet to check for UTI.
I have tried to find a home for him, but no luck yet. I would move, but can't afford to. Where would I take him? I have been looking into getting an apt where the landlord would be willing to work with me on security/pet deposits, but also have had no luck........any advice? Please keep in mind, I do not want to get rid of him!!

okay so i heard that all kittens are born with worms. So if you were to get a kitten and did not deworm it yet, are these "worms" contagious to humans?

We had fleas earlier this year, but Frontline quickly took care of that. My vet said I only needed to treat the cats for three months because they only live indoors. So they aren't currently on any flea treatment.

I swear I pulled a flea (singular) off one of my cats on Saturday. I checked both cats on Saturday and again a bit ago, but I don't see any other fleas or dirt on their bellies. Could we have fleas with no visible flea dirt?

I'm starting them back on Frontline this week for sure. I don't think we have a huge problem yet, but we're packing to move. 3/4 of our crap is already in boxes. If we do have fleas, anyone have a clue if they can survive in the boxes? I'm hoping not.

Also, the house we're moving to has been empty for months and will be cleaned before the cats are moved. If the previous owers had dogs, is there any chance there are still living fleas or eggs in the house?

I volunteer at a cat shelter, but have only been there for a few month's now, and I have 4 cats that I adopted at home,(from a different shelter, and about 4 years ago!) I know that a couple of our cats at the shelter had gotten ring worm, and they were treated, now I think one of my cats has it on the inside of his ear! I have never had this problem before with my cat's and have never gotten it myself, so could I have picked up it up some how and brought it home to my kitty, and what is usualy prescibed or done for it? ( I did'nt treat the infected cat's I mentioned before the vet did, and I did'nt ask) And do I need to corentine my cat that I think is infected, is it very spreadable? How hard is it to get rid of, and does it cause them any pain? Thanks alot for everybody's time to answer this question for me, I truely appreciate it, and wish I could give ten point's to all!

My cat often vomits within minutes of eating. I can see the shape of his dry food in the vomit, so he's obviously not chewing! Is this normal for a cat, and what can I do to stop this? Thanks!

My kittens have fleas, bad! I have heard that fleas can suck enough blood to kill a kitten, and I have also heard that dawn soap will help the problem, but what is true?
