Dawn soap is a life saver when it comes to fleas. just be gentle with you kittens the bath can frieghten them. I recommend using a baby shampoo near the face and around the eyes as to not burn their eyes with the dawn but Dawn works. If your kitten freaks out talk gently and try to keep him calm. If all else fails wrap them in a towel while you bathe them. Also don't forget to treat where they sleep.

dawn dishwasing detergent is too harsh. baby shampoo actually will work better (from a vet). I've found Capstar to be highly effective killing fleas. All fleas are dead within six hours. It's taken orally (pill) and is safe for kittens. You can get it on line or from a vet. Stay away from store-bought flea products. They don't do a thing. Also, see your vet if your kittens are outside a lot for a preventative topical medication that is placed on their neck once a month. I've found Revolution to be the best. It kills more parasites than others.

Yes, bad flea infestations can make a kitten anaemic, which can be fatal.
Dawn dish soap is not helpful - it's pointless to just wash off fleas, you need to use a preventative or your kitten will be reinfested before the day is out.
Go to a vets to pick up some proper flea treatment - any of the spot-ons if your kitten is older than 8 weeks. If not, it will have to be Frontline spray. Stay far from pet store products.

I have a lot of dogs and cats and believe me, they will kill your animal no mater what age they are. First give your kittens a bath (they will NOT like it) only if they are healthy and make sure you keep them warm. Maybe use a hair dryer on low to help get them dry. If you still have the momma cat then I would go to the vet and get something they suggest to put between the mom's shoulder blades to get rid of the fleas on her. Because if they are around her they will get them off her. Mine stay outside and I tried everything and the only thing that I could tell that was working was table salt. It kills the eggs. As far as dawn dish det, it suppose to breakdown the hard shell that fleas have on their body. I also use lemon juice. Good Luck with this one!

I do not know about home remedies. Fleas can cause anemia in the kittens, this is true. At the least, give them a wash in warm (not hot) water and comb them through as much as you can with a flea comb. Ask your vet about a topical medication.
Kittens under 8 weeks you should be VERY careful with topical items!

You have to check with your vet. You don't say how old the kittens are, and MANY of the products (shampoos, sprays, drops) used to kill fleas can't be used on kittens or puppies under 6 months of age.

Im not sure if you can use it on kittens, but Frontline is a very good flea treatment, one of the best. Still, i would take the kittens to the vet to get checked out and ask them the best advice.

Fleas can kill kittens. Give them a flea bath and take them to get a flea dip.
