I have tried finding the answer to this question online but haven't had any luck.

I have recently adopted two brother cats that are a year and a half old. They are completely up to date on their shots and vet visits. We have their vet records and they received their rabies vaccine on December 23rd, 2006.

Is it OK for them to get their new vaccine (rabies) at the beginning of November? It would be about 2 months early (give or take a few days) and I just want to know if this is safe. There is not enough room/time to explain why so could you please just answer the question. Either way they will get their vaccines whenever it is safe.

FYI, they have no health problems and have not come in contact with any other animals so there is no way they are infected with rabies. Just in case that matters to the answer.

If you could prove your answer somehow that would be perfect.

Thanks in advance.

My kitty "Twinkle" loves to play fetch. Twinkle will run after a toy mouse, fetch it, and bring it right to my feet! Just like a dog :)

Just give lots of attention, and treats, and cats can be trained right? Anyone have ideas on training cats I'd love to hear experiences.

I have recently discovered that my cats have fleas. I was wondering if flea collars prevent them from getting fleas or can they also get rid of fleas as well?

I just found out today that it's not safe to vaccinate a pregnant cat.....and last week my pregnant cat received her rabies, feline panleukopenia, feline rhinotracheitis, feline calicivirus and feline chlamydia shots....with the vet fully aware that she was pregnant. Today I spoke with another vet and they told me to contact my vet and get the manufactioners name and contact them as to what the possiable birth defects could be....I'v been trying to contact my vet all day with no luck....so I'm really worried...I'm very excited about these kittens coming so I'm just wondering if anyone can give me any insight to this or if someone else has gone through this. (I am continuing to try to reach my vet.)

We've just got a kitten recently (3 month old) and I swear, his mission is to KILL our other cat (1 year old)! LOL. Our other cat is such a soft touch, he just minds his own business but the kitten jumps on him, biting etc. My other cat defends himself by biting back until the kitten squeals...but then 20 seconds later the kitten's back for more! They chase each other a lot (playing), mainly the kitten chasing, but then it gets out of hand sometimes.

What should we do? We don't want the kitten to get hurt, is there any way of stopping him attacking? The main reason why we got the kitten is for a play mate for the other cat...

I thought we'd have a problem with the other cat accepting the little cute kitten, but it's the other way around (lol)

My Kitty has Chronic Renal Failure and has to receive sub-q fluids under her skin. I don't administer the fluids myself, I have my vet do it. My vet charges me $38.00 each time I have the fluids administered, this does not include the cost of the fluids themselves. I called around to other vets in my area and some charge $57.00 some charge $37 etc.. but I also found a few that only charge $5.00 or $5.50. Anyone know why these amounts are so drastically different? Should I trust a place that is charging so much less? Please help! I want the best care for my baby girl, but I also need to be able to afford it.

I have a half grown kitten and I've had him for 2 weeks. A few days ago I noticed when he uses the litter pan now he doesn't cover up his poop. Instead he scratches on the side of walls of the litter pan. The problem with him doing this is the poop is just sitting there on top and the litter isn't absorbing the odor. Can anyone tell me why he would suddenly stop covering it up?

I have a 5 month old male kitten named "Monster." Monster is FIV positive (shelter kitty) and I watch his behaviour VERY closely for this reason...I've noticed that after a bit of rough-housing, he often plops down with a VERY heavy "SIGH"...now, I've had other cats and I've NEVER known them to do this...is this normal?? I'm worried that it might indicate some type of respriatory troubles...any thoughts? Of course, I've got a vet appt. scheduled for next week, but thought I might ask around in here beforehand! Thanks for any and all input!

Hi! My cat recently had a flea attack. It appears that he was bitten on his lower back, just above his tail and has itched the area so much that he has lost his fur in that area. His fur feels very stiff as well in the area surrounding the now-bald-spot. We administered the recommended does of flea medication yesterday; Frontline Plus to be exact. I am wondering if simply controlling the flea problem will help our cat as recommended, or if there is a medication I can apply (Vaseline, Neosporin??) that will help meanwhile. Thanks for any insight :)

I had a stray cat show up on my door last winter. I did everything imaginable to find his owner. Nothing turned up so I've been feeding him, got him neutered, & got him all his shots. I have been trying to find a home for him through local agencies as well as friends, family, etc. Let's face it, no one wants a full grown cat. The biggest problem is I have 3 other male cats of my own. It has turned into a constant spraying war in my house. I also have to run the stray off everytime my cats go outside or there's a fight. I've tried bringing the stray into the house when the others are outside & he just sprays where they have. Everyone is neutered. I'm afraid as winter approaches, & it gets very cold where I live, he'll freeze outside. Though I've set up a little make shift shelter. People are telling me he'll be fine outside. I don't know if he can handle the minus temperatures but I also can't handle a spraying war & my home smelling of cat pee. Any suggestions?

We are thinking about getting a kitten, for us and our 1 yr old son. We are getting one from a shelter, and you pay a fee and they are supposedly i believe alreay spayed or nuetured. My question is what do i need to have done after that? I assume a vet check up? How often do the yneed shots or deworming? We are new to having kittens so any help please would be great. Just want to know what im looking to spend right away!

My cat is indoor/outdoor, and two months ago, he got in a fight with another cat (not mine), and some of his fur got pulled off his tail, right near the base. I took him to the vet, got him tested (everything came back negative, thankfully), and while I was there, they treated him for fleas and recommended I treat him with Frontline, which I have been doing. Ever since he lost the fur on his tail, he won't leave it alone - he's always licking and biting it! I've had to take him back to the vet twice in the past month because it gets weepy and infected from him biting it all the time. They gave me antibiotics for him both times, and this last time, they drained the abcess and put stitches in and an E-collar on him. I've been keeping him inside, but I'm afraid to take the collar off, because I know that as soon as I do, he'll be biting his tail again. I've asked the vet several times what I can do to make him stop biting it, but they ignore my questions. Any ideas?

Cute little kitty keeps coming around my work building and getting into the building. She has a tag and owner has been called many times. At first owner says to put the cat back in the shrubs and it will find it's way home. Cat keeps coming back. Then we called the owner and had her come pick up kitty after it got into the building five times in one day. Adorable kitty, loves affection. Owner says it is a "porch" cat but seems to keep running away suddenly. She says it has food and water. It does not look neglected but obviously owner does not care or she would not keep putting it outside so it can run away. I am concerned for cute little kitty and have thought of just taking her home. Realistically, this is stealing and my conscience is reeking havoc on me. What should I do? I thought of calling Humane Society or Animal Rescue but would rather take Kitty myself because it has won a place in my heart. I feel for the poor little thing. All it wants is love and affection.

My mom recently moved and asked me if I would watch her cat until she got everything in order and all moved in. Before she brought the cat over he had fleas. So she flea bathed him. Brought him over. It had been about a month and we finally took the cat to my moms. The same day, we noticed fleas. So we bombed our house with 3 (hot shot) flea bombs. Didn't work. By this time my son has been ate up by these fleas and has sores and scabs all over from itching. We bomb again this time using 6 bombs of the same brand as before. That day we didn't notice any, but next moring I gave my son a bath and there were a few in the bath water as well as jumping on me as I was getting him dressed. HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM??? Quickly!!!

My neighbor is complaining that my two cats are using the bathroom in his yard and climbing on his fence and he wants me to stop them from doing this or get rid of them. He even threatened me with leash law ordanence or using a BB gun on them. One cat was a neighborhood cat that I began feeding and bringing inside in the dead of winter when we moved in 2 years ago and the other is a rescue cat that was starving to death when my husband and I found her. they are both outside for the mostpart and can't be inside cats ALL the time b/c I have dogs. I will be devestated if I have to get rid of them. What in the world can I do?? I explained to him that I can no more command the cats to do as he wishes than I can command the birds to not poo on his car. He's unreasonable!! Please help if you have any experience with this sort of thing or know about law....
