A lot of cats like to roam -- it's just their nature. If you haven't already done so get the cat spayed or neutered - sometimes that will help.

It is hard to keep a cat inside especially if they were once a stray. Cats love to roam and chase things even an imaginary mouse. My cat is spayed and she still loves to go outside. She was rescued from the animal shelter and they implanted a chip. About a year ago when animal control picked her up 3 blocks from my house I had to go and bail her out of kitty jail. I was so lucky that she has the chip or I would have never gotten her back. I fought to keep her inside after that. She still wants to go outside but now she just goes out and rolls around on the sidewalk or the porch. I guess we all need fresh air and to roll around outside now and then.

First, is your cat an indoor cat or an outdoor cat. If it is an outdoor cat, it could like the place where it its going to or also, someone might see your cat and think it is a stray cat and feed it;therefore the cat doesn't like to go home. If it is an indoor cat, then....... I not really sure why.

my cat sometimes does that. He comes home meowing a lot and eats and then sleeps for a long time. and then he wants to leave. My parents say that he goes outside because there's a cat outside waiting for my cat. I think it's true...

If he is a house cat that would not be a issue. If he is a outdoors cat he will come and go as he/she pleases that is what cats do. They always tend to come back to where the food is.

B/c they're curious wanderers. My cat used to leave for days at a time, just playing in the fields. They're independent.

Cats by their very nature- tend to roam around alot. And unlike dogs, they're MUCH better at finding their way back home. It's just the way they are... :)

cat's don't like to do what they're expected to, or stay where they're supposed to stay
my cat has learned a lot of sneaky ways to get outside even though I try to keep him indoors, he's outside more often then not.

I like Haley G's answer. Cats love to wander and explore other places- even if it's just in the neighborhood. You like your freedom too right?
