You are going to have to train her by staying by her side and it will take time and patience. Every time she jumps up you take her down and firmly say no. If after a few days she ignores you ( Ireally hate this) You can use a spray bottle but it's best if she doesn't see where the water is coming from becuase then she'll think the counter top is spraying her not you and she won't like that. Good luck. Really

The matts that were mentioned are a wonderful idea. An inexpensive way of getting something similar is to go to Home Depot (or other home store) and get a plastic carpet runner that has bumps on the underside. Put it upside down on the coutnertops when no one is home so your kitty won't want to walk on them. When you are home spray her with water from a squirt bottle from far away and yell NO! Aim at her head with the water to get immediate attention.
If you are having any problems with scratching you can place these runners on the floor of areas where she is innapropriately scratching, trim her nails regularly and/or try Soft Paws. There are grooming salons that can place these on your kitty's nails.
At 6 months all of her behavioral problems can be worked on and with patience and consistency you can teach her what's ok and what isn't. Cats are much smarter than people give them credit for and their behavior directly reflects back on their owners willingness to work with them.
Good Luck :)

Don't tap your kitty on the head! She doesn't understand that. I trained my cats with a spray bottle. Every time I saw them do something they weren't supposed to, I just gave them a squirt. They don't like water, so that method is pretty effective. Also, don't leave food out on the counters and make sure there's no food residue, so wipe your counters every time you make something, like a sandwich or prepare a meal.

We got ours to stay off certain areas (top of the aquarium, the computer keyboard & monitor, etc.) with a roll of clear 2" wide packing tape. Strips 12" long were laid sticky side up anywhere they were not supposed to be. If they jumped up, they got it snagged on their paws or belly, and we'd leave it on at least 15 minutes to let them learn before peeling it off.
Retrap the area after they spring the tape, they don't associate the punnishment coming from you, and will learn usually within 3 tries, that this happens every time.

If the other stuff doesn't work, they sell these mats that you put where on the counter.. (or wherever you are trying to keep them from going).. put it where the cat jumps normally.. it has a texture that doesn't feel right to the cat so they immediately jump off.. after a few times they should stop..

spray bottles are the best inventions ever for training cats! She will figure out after a bit that she doesn't like to get wet and this should stop this behavior.
Good luck!

They have a spray that repels the cats and dogs so that you can train them on where they may not go. You just have to reapply everyday. It does work, I trained a dog to stay off the couch and beds.

try spraying her with water. use one of those bottles to wet your hair. but do this without her seeing. eventually she will get the idea that if she jumps up she gets wet and she wont like that. also figure out why she jumps up. my cat like to drink from the faucet. she jumps when she is thirsty. maybe there is something she like up there,
