My kitty "Twinkle" loves to play fetch. Twinkle will run after a toy mouse, fetch it, and bring it right to my feet! Just like a dog :)

Just give lots of attention, and treats, and cats can be trained right? Anyone have ideas on training cats I'd love to hear experiences.

I have taught my cat how to sit and fetch. I taught him how to sit with cat treats and a lot of patience. Now the fetching thing, he just started doing that on his own. I guess that he loves me throwing toys for him to chase after so much that he started bringing them to me every time.

Any animal can be trained to do tricks (well depending on the trick) as long as you have a good reinforcer (whether its food, petting, loving talk, etc whatever it is for your cat, it differs from cat to cat). Just use the basic procedure of behavior therapy, only reinforce behaviors that you want and ignore behaviors that you don't want. Come on, if we can train a rat to press a lever then you can certainly train a cat if you have the patience (that is the key, patience) and time.

Well cats can be trained, it's just that they're usually privative animals and don't seem to be able to be trained as easily, but some cats who bond with their owners really good can sometimes be taught simple things.

Myself, my cat does that sometimes, although she normally ends up losing it somewhere.
Make sure to give cats lots of treats, love and affection.

On my 360 blog there's a vid of Sophie sitting up and begging for a treat.

I just used her natural inclination as a kitten to sit up like that.

My cat fetches too, we never taught him to he just does. He will bring me a mousie or medicine cup (clean of course, he likes them because they bounce erratically because of its shape), drop it, meow and rub against me, then chase it and play with it when I throw it, and bring it back.
