My mom recently moved and asked me if I would watch her cat until she got everything in order and all moved in. Before she brought the cat over he had fleas. So she flea bathed him. Brought him over. It had been about a month and we finally took the cat to my moms. The same day, we noticed fleas. So we bombed our house with 3 (hot shot) flea bombs. Didn't work. By this time my son has been ate up by these fleas and has sores and scabs all over from itching. We bomb again this time using 6 bombs of the same brand as before. That day we didn't notice any, but next moring I gave my son a bath and there were a few in the bath water as well as jumping on me as I was getting him dressed. HOW DO I GET RID OF THEM??? Quickly!!!

Bombs work but you have to vacuum every day as well. Between the egg and flea stage there is a pupae stage. This sacks are completely water-proof and the chemicals in the bombs do not penetrate those sacks. These sacks hatch new fleas about every 3 days. These sacks get woven into the carpet fibers (and the upholstery on furniture). Vacuum your furniture as well. I also suggest that you shampoo your carpets not too long after bombing your house. There is something about soapy water that a flea can't stand.

Another little trick I have been taught is to take a foam plate (or any plate that water won't leak through) and put a few drops of soap and mix it with water. Place it under a night light. Fleas are attracted to bright colored objects and light. I have made these flea traps before and they do work very well. Just make sure you have no animals in the house that might drink the soapy water.

Flea baths and bombs do not work, as you've just discovered. Never put your cat through the trauma of a bath, it's a waste of your time and money.

You need to go into a vets, because this is the only place where flea treatments that actually work can be found. Frontline, Advantage, Revolution and Advocate are all good. You need to get one of these spot-ons and make sure it gets on the cat's skin, not it's fur. You may need to treat the house as well - not using a flea bomb, obviously. Get a proper spray from a vets, recommend Skoosh - it's a new product that's pesticide free, any vet should be able to order it in for you.

Don't buy any more pet store products, many are dangerous and none work.

That had to have been some kind of flea bitten cat to bring that many into your home. I have three indoor animals and only have an occassional problem. There's got to be another explanation. Do you have a sand box or live near a sandy area? They trive in sandy soils as well.

Be that as it may, I don't recommend using that many flea bombs at one time. The fumes can't ignite and you don't want to set the house on fire for some fleas.

If you still had the animal, I would have recommended spraying some Avon's skin so soft on it. Actually everyone in the house should put it on. Once you get rid of the food source (YOU) they will eventually disappear.

Make sure the bomb's say they kill both fleas and eggs. The bomb's should kill most but when you bomb you should also make sure you change all of the bed linens, clean and vacuum the mattress and any other furniture you have that has cushions. Wash your pet bedding. If you have carpet then vacuum and make sure you get the hard to reach spots. I'd also treat the cat with Frontline.

If all else fails then get a professional exterminator.

You should also have the cat checked for worms that the fleas can spread.

It's easier if you got the cat back and treated the cat with a product called Revolution (tell your mom to go to the vet and get it ). My sister had really bad fleas once and she used something called sevin dust and it worked for her..i think she sprinkled it around the house and left it for a day or two then vacuumed it up and the fleas went bye bye-and never came back. I would be careful with it though around kids and pets...good luck..i know how horrible it is to have fleas!!

Your child probably has fleas living in his hair if there are that many to be jumping off of him in the tub..You can use a lice shampoo on him and wash all the clothing and bedding in hot water.Put all stuffed animals in tightly tied garbage bags and leave them there for a month. When you bomb your home do you leave it closed up for at least 8 hours without going back to it?You really need help if your child is getting bit that bad.
