I've got a dirt area next to my garage, and a neighborhood cat has recently claimed it as its bathroom! I'd say the cat is pooping at least once per day over there. I need some non-harmful ways to deter the cat so he can find a new pooping ground elsewhere. Thanks

My cat just gave birts to 2 kittens but they were born without their individual placentas. They are fine. The big one where all the kittens are in didnt come out either. Should I worry????

I have a cat who has recently had a litter of kittens. Before she got pregnant she used to have stomach problems (testimony from her previous home). She had serious flatulence problems. While she was pregnant the problems went away but came back again after giving birth. So when she started having diarrhea I decided to change her diet a bit. For the past couple of weeks I have began feeding 2 meals a day of raw meat. I still feed dry food but she eats much less of it. Within a few days her problem cleared up and she's been fine ever since.

I've read alot of stuff about the pros and cons of both commercial food and homemade food. For example, commercial food could have go rancid and have bacterial and mold growth as well as being filled with 'filler' grains or animal byproducts/feces. Raw food could be diseased and our domesticated cats have evolved in a way that they are not able to safely process raw foods. Itseems that there is no good alternative. Your thoughts?

He has not eaten in a day. He has stayed on the bed for the whole day. He is also very weak and lethargic, occasionally hissing when I rub his head. His tail is pointed down and his lower back is slumped down and can easily be pushed down.

First of all I wanted to mention that we have a vet appointment at 2:40, thats the only time they could see us, if you believe that!!
My cats have always been indoor cats. Over the summer they kept trying to get outside and finally we just let them, rather than always chasing them back in. They were good about staying in the yard, but recently our cat Simba got brave and started wandreing the block. Anyway he came inthe other day and was hissing if you touched him. Last night I picked him up and there was blood, a lot of it, all over the floor, we put him in the bathroom and there wasblood all over the floor. I thought it was coming out of his bottom, but he didnt want me to look so I let him be. Today he is bleeding slightly an he was standing up and I see it is his tail, I thik it was dislocated or broken, it has a huge wound on it and just hangs there. Hangs wrong. I am taking him to the vet in 1 hour but I am wondering if its broken do the amputate or can they fix it??

I can't take her to the vet cause I just don't have the money!! I know what your thinking then"why do you have a pet?" I found a cat six months ago and she was so skiny,so I took her to the vet and we got her healthy $400 later. We were in the middle of a move three month ago and a male cat some how got in, when we weren't there!! 60 days later she had two kittens!! One of them is fat and looks very healthy. the other is skiny and doesn't seem to be getting enough milk from moma.. Moma cat does't seem like she has very much milk ether. So I'm thinking that the bigger kitten is fighting for what she does have! I thought I would try and give the skiny kitten (Baby formula!) Does anyone no if this is OK????? Please Help!!!

does this happen when there outdoors or indoors or genetic?
my sister brought her cat from the vet and he has swollen glands. she was told he had a fever and he could have gotten in a cat fight. but i'm worried if its spreadable or something since i got 2 cats myself. it be nice to hear some info about this. they just told my sis to watch out for him if he does get it. he might or may not. I don't get it though how he could get it from glands. or if he gets again.

Help! I am going to be the future owner of a Himalayan cat within the next year. I have read several articles/information about the breed however I am confused about the doll face and the flat face characteristics of the breed. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Also, I know that there are potential health concerns in regards to respiratory and tear duct issues. Is either face type less prone to health problems? Thanks so much!

he stopped now after two times. I'm going to watch him and see if he needs to go to the vet. Our siamese breeds known for having upset stomachs?

I had to take my 6 year old cat, Ivey, to the vet last week for an upper respiratory problem. The vet said she had Rhinitis but it could be caused by a number of things, and did some blood work to see if Ivey could be put under anesthesia to do a culture. The vet later called with the results of the blood test and to ask if my cat had ever been tested for FeLV or FIV and I wasn't sure. We got her from a shelter when she was a year old and no one had suggested such a test. So, now they are testing for it. The vet did say the chances of it being one of those are minimal but it's better to test.

My question is if Ivey does have one of these can she still live a relatively normal cat life with them?

I'm probably jumping the gun a bit on this, but both sound quite scary to me. My new vet has been really helpful with explaining everything but I just wanted to hear experiences of other pet owners with these diseases.

I have two cats about 10 months old

Duke is a male american shorthair tabby (marble orange).
He is very affectionate and loves attention.

Daisy is a female blue point siamese. She has a kink in her tail like the very first siamese cats did. She's a talker.

hi, i had a kitten a couple of months ago which we gave away after two weeks but it's seemed to have left a few of its "friends" behind. The entire house is infested with fleas.Me and my 4 year old daughter are covered in bites! i'm constantly hoovering and bought spray from the vet which i've sprayed everywhere i can think of but nothing seems to work..has anyone got any ideas on what could get rid of them? i've heard of pest control from our local council but unsure if they deal with fleas or not.

I have just moved my cat from my old home to my new home (she'd been living at my parents home) and it was a long trip (about six hours) and now she is terrified. She keeps hiding and won't eat. I know this is to be expected but I want to help her adjust. The other cat living here, my husbands, is very friendly. He has been whining because we won't put the two of them in the same room. He sits by the bathroom door, waiting for her to come out. He wants so badly to play with her!! But she keeps hissing at him and backing away, she won't give him the time of day! What can I do to help my cat get used to her new surroundings and stop being so scared? I can only drag her out from under the bed so many times!!

Hi
I want badly a cat, (I love cats!) but I’m afraid it will break my bank. You guys know, sometimes the cat is sick in the medical costs, including dental care could be sky rocking in New York
Thanks

I fed it, ( I have owned cats your years and have 3 of my own). She is slowly growing but i believe she may have worms. I am NOT a believer in taking an animal to the vet for every ailment, so my question is, where can I get a tape worm remedy and how is purchased .. by how much your animal weighs? I thinks she is maybe 3 pounds and need to get her spay but That alone is very costly. So if I can at least cure the worm problem, I can take her to the vet for a spaying . Thanks
