because they are beautiful. why shouldnt people like black cats. a cat is a cat regardless of the size, or color.

I am an animal lover. Really. To the point in which I cut meat out of my diet because to me, there is no difference between pets and farm animals. I have been veg for 10 years and I am involved in animal rights. There is nothing wrong with black cats. I love black cats. I have three cats at present and 2 of them are solid black. Beau is a Himalayan, completely black and weighs about 19 lbs. No he is not fat, he is a huge cat, very long and tall and has the biggest feet I have ever seen.
Midnight is a Mutt - totally black except for a tiny white streak on his underbelly. My third cat is a Bengal and he is gray/black/white
There is something regal looking about black cats. When the sit up so straight and elegant they look like the cats you see on old Egyptian tombs that they use to worship.
This are my cats in all their regal glory. The big on in the window is Beau, the regal one is Midinght and the Gray stripes is Bubba.

I enjoy black cats because they look a little more mysterious to me. A pure white cat also has the same effect.

I have an all black cat and I love her because of her excentric personality. She's independant, hates to be held but loves to be pet but only when you're standing and she's on the ground, acts like she is too old and too wise for her own good but if you dangle a string she's instantly a kitten again, her guilty pleasure is freshly folded basket of laundry. Her independence has given her the name "the cat that lives here".....

Ever heard black is slimming? It's true. Black cats are very sleek and gives the illusion of the cat being more graceful.

We specifically got a black cat so it's fur wouldn't show up on our clothes.

They are very pretty and the most healthy of any other color. White cats have greater risks of becoming deaf or blind for some reason. I don't know why though...i read it in a cat book
