If you've ever watched John Edward Crossing Over television show, he often talks about cats, horses, and dogs being on the other side. And here's why I believe him.

Last November, my cat Sammy, had a freak accident under the Christmas tree and died within a matter of 2 minutes. He was by far my favorite cat (out of four), and I was sick for a week ... unable to eat and had difficulty sleeping. Sammy would sleep with me every night, and every night I thanked God for him and "the simple things in life" that make us so happy.

The first night without Sammy was really tough. As I lay in bed, I prayed for Sammy to send one of my other three cats into the room to sleep with me and comfort me. Within two minutes, I swear, one of the other cats who had NEVER slept with me, came in and cuddled. For some reason, I wasn't surprised. The next night, another one of my cats came in to cuddle, and they rotated for about two weeks. It was strange, but it helped my recovery so much.

So yes, I believe animals go to heaven and the ones you have loved will be waiting for you upon your arrival. Knowing this, death doesn't seem like such a tragic event ... although I'm happy to wait a few more years. :)

Yes they do - Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

yes, God walked the earth with a dog. There is a book in the childrens section of the library, written by an Indian, Native American. Sorry I don't know the title. That should be enough info to find it tho.
