It really doesn't matter, but if you like the more social kind of cats, get the manx, and if you like the more oriental-looking kind of cats, get a siamese.

I love the look of both cats but Siamese make a lot of noise, they can destroy things like climb curtains because they are monkey like. I ran into a woman who breed Siamese and Pursian mix. Wonderful cat but you had the long hair all over the place even if you didn't have the eye washing duty and all the care of a Pursian.
Never owned a Purebread Manx but the Manx seem to be more gentle.
My suggestion.... Get a Burmese. Their fur is like silk and they don't shed like other animals. There pretty quiet, love the contact of humans the same way a dog loves it owner. They want to please. Unlike most cats, they seem more at ease with people, none of this build in fear of the new like most cats. and if nothing else they hang around strangers to see what they are up to.
Once I had a Burmese, I'll never switch. Besides, I don't like animal hair all over the house and me. There is a bit at weather changes but not much.

If you get Siamese (my favorites), be prepare that they are very vocal!
And has more like a dog-cat behaviour than a cat's.
They will tell you what they want loudly and are demanding,...
don't know what Manxes are like, never had that breed.
But Siamese are very talkative, smart and affectionate.

It really depends on what you want out of your cats because their are pros and cons with all breeds. As others have pointed out Siamese can be noisy - if you like talkative cats they would be ideal, if not it could drive you nuts.
There is really no need to worry about separating them - kittens generally adapt quickly and naturally form bonds with another youngster so they would not miss their sibling.

what ever you do ... DO NOT get them if they are from a pet store... pet stores over charge for low quality pets.. they are in the business of making profit.. they support the VERY cruel industry of puppy and kitty mills.. breeding animals for no other reason than $$ if you buy from a pet store you are REWARDING them for this.. and supporting them to continue keeping mom cats and dogs in cages breeding over and over and over. the ONLY way to end this is to STOP BUYING FROM PET STORES>...(pet stores wont admit this.. but NO reputable breeder would need to hide behind a store to sell their animals would they???)
if from a breeder or SPCA (or shelter) take one of each?? or neither.. take a regular domestic kitten who has smaller chance of being saved...
Manx often have "bathroom" problems becuase of the genetic abnormality..and can have back problems too... so be aware of that... Siamese are prone to have been inbred as well so they could also have future problems...
please save a life by adopting from your local SPCA.. cheaper too!!!!

I have never liked Manxes. Without a tail they are like half a cat. It's not right.

its easier to just get one of each, but to be honest its what ever you feel will be in your life for a LONG time...healthy cats can live up to 20 years.
