I adopted a cat and every time I leave he will cry and cry. The crying wont stop when I leave, and it is the saddest sound ever.
I am living with some roommates in a house, and while they love him, I am sure that the crying gets annoying after a while, how can I get him to stop?

My cat used to do this. The way we got him to stop is to leave a radio or TV on, he hasn't done it since. Except when he hungry :p

I make a point of saying goodbye every morning to each of our cats, they all know I leave at the same time and I give each a pat or stroke and say their name. It's a ritual. If I miss one, they get all anxious looking like I forgot. When I come home I great all the ones I see when I come in. They like that.

For ones that are still getting used to the routine, you can try leaving the tv on at low volume or the radio on, to give some sound stimulation so things don't sound so quiet. That helps a lot of the cats who aren't used to being left alone.

When you get cats from the SPCA it is difficult to know their past. Maybe that is why their owner gave up on him. I had a barking problem with my puppy. I got a hard rubber toy with a narrow hole down the middle. I forget what they are called but they were very useful. My dog loved peanut butter and kibble. So i got a spoon of peanut butter and but it right down the toy. It kept him busy while I was out. Find something your cat likes and use that. It may not have the same effect but you can also just leave toys or feathers hanging on string off a door knob. Hope it helps. -Hannah

I thinkit is genuine that they are going to be satisfied as long as they are fed and function an incredible, being concerned proprietor. they are relatively youthful, so as that they could desire to alter. i think of it relatively is super which you have been waiting to locate them a house the place they are able to stay jointly. I certainly have 2 boy cats and that they do no longer seem to be even relatively littermates, yet they love one yet another a lot. it relatively isn't any longer undemanding to grant a puppy up, and that i do no longer blame you for being unhappy. basically communicate with the owner in case you may to examine on them periodically.

Man my dog is the same, but they stop after you leave because their attention span is so short. The cat will get used to it, there's no harm being done to it. And after it learns that you always return it will be okay.

Is a companion cat out of the question? Maybe he's just lonely.
