Try growing your own. It takes a while but it works for everyone. Mine is a hanging catnip and that really gets my cats angry. Growing your own catnip also means it is more fresh for you and your cats. The cats really, really like the buds and tea is better if the leaves are fresh.

It should be ok, but usually only the flowers are used for people tea.
I've tried it, with fresh and with home dried....it tastes like it smells and needs an awful lot of sugar to be drinkable (man was it strong!).
