I had a male cat, who was not social at all with other animals. I recently adopted a female kitten. At first he hated her, bust she loved him. Soon he loved her too, and they are now spending time licking each other,he smells her butt and then he licks her ears, he hugs her, they sleep together, she licks him and always lies next to him, etc. The male is neutered, the female isn't yet. Will this behaviour stop when she is spayed? I have another kitten now at the house, she is spayed, and she wants nothing to do with the male cat, and he hates her too.

right, i just found a little approx. 3 month old kitten.
i brought her to the vet to get her a vaccinated and she got a vet check. she is going to get sterilised in the next few days.
i unfortunately can't keep her at my house as my dogs just don't get along with her and she is getting a bit stressed out i think.
i have now decided to bring her to the stables where my horse lives and "make" her into a stable cat. she'll get lots of attention etc. i pay for her and she'll be my cat but the stable cat.
i have never owned a cat and don't want to make any big huge mistakes that will affect her.
what do i need to get?
is 3 months too young to leave her at the stables?
there is another 3 month old i found with her who i have as well. i was thinking to leave both there to keep eachother company.
what do i need?
thanks

Ok, this is the last time I will try to explain this.
The runt kitten named Sparky, he is 3 weeks and 1 or 2 days old.
He can use his front legs easily, but I have to help him get up his back legs. After that, he can walk for about 30 seconds, then he sits down and I have to help him get up again.
The mum cat treats him as if he were not a runt, but a normal cat. Many people would think the mum would reject the runt of the litter, but not this little mum kitty! Just then I brought them out into the lounge room so they could play/sleep or whatever but I didn't notice that little Sparky was left behind, suddenly I heard the LOUD, LOUD meowing! I looked next to me and Kitti (mum cat) had brought him out. So clearly, she is not rejecting him. I just want to know a little more on what to feed him when he is 4 weeks old, how to help him walk better and maybe a little more info on runt kittens.

I came home today and noticed that my new 8 week old kitty had small rice shaped things around his butt. Called the vet, took him in, and they did a fecal sample and say he has tape worms. They gave me Drontal to give him 1/2 a pill. We went out and when I came home I noticed a terrible smell. He had poop stuck all around the outside of his butt. I have a 4 year old and am afraid to let the kitty sleep in our room (where he normally sleeps). I also notice some sort of liquid drippings on the floor coming from where he had been standing or sitting. I don't know what that is!?!? This whole thing is grossing me out, and I don't know what to do. How long does it take the pill to start working? What happens when it does start? Are these side effects from the pill that he is having? And my 1 yr old cat is terrorizing the little one too. Kitten stands up for himself and sometimes starts the fights but, I am afraid that my big boy is gonna hurt my little boy. Anything would help!!!

Well, he seems healthy, yes, he is thin, but that is common in many runt kittens.
I have posted about this before and someone said something like "If the kitten has started walking about a week after the others there may be a problem". The problem is, he did, at least 1 or 2 weeks after the other kittens had learned to walk, they were quick learners though. As some kittens start learning to walk at 3 weeks old, but not these kittens, instead of 3 WEEKS, it was 3 DAYS. So, yes, I know runts take more time. His mother is feeding him, and we take them to the garage at night and in the morning she brings him in with the others. He hasn't been rejected, though he is a very small runt. Smaller than the only girl in the litter. But he seems healthy except that I can feel his bones through his skin and he can't walk, also he doesn't have much fur.
Please Help!

I just got one of my male cats neutered today. I have two male cats. The other one is going next week. But the cat that is going next week has started hissing at my other cat...and he also has been following his scent and smelling at him. Will this behavior go away soon or do i have to wait until he is neutered also? They always got along playing and grooming each other i have never seen my cat like that.

of her fur on and around her neck and the side of her face a vet thinks its either anxiety or a skin disorder.the cat is between 5 and 9 years of age. what else could be causing this?

I appreciate that so many people have been responding to my questions.
The vet called today and his kidney numbers are high. 74. They clipped his nails yesterday. Without his nails he's struggling. He was already having problems with getting up on the couch. But I've had to put a step stool so he can jump up. Vet said old age. As I've said before I'm keeping an eye on him with his food, drink and litter box habits. I won't let him suffer. This is so hard, I'm afraid to leave the house and coming home to a dead cat. I usually spend today with my boyfriend but cancelled to keep an eye on Buddy. I'm asking for a "Buddy prayer". May his fifteen years as my loving cat, that he will go peacefully.
Thank you in advance
Tak

Like I said, I have 3 cats....2 are my roommates, the other is mine. Mine is 5 years old, hers are 2. Mine is fixed, hers are not. Recently, the girls have become very aggressive towards my cat, to the point where they have him afraid to come out of my room to use the kitty litter and to eat. Every time he does, he's attacked. My room mate and I don't see eye to eye on how this issue can be resolved without one of us giving up our cats, and thats the last thing we want. Is there anything we can do to stop the cats from being so aggressive with each other?

The reason I ask is that it will be VERY difficult to give insulin injections twice every day at the same times as members of the family are always coming and going and having someone at home at the right times will not always be possible.

Could it be possible to switch to a more regulated diet and keep things in check? By the sounds of things once insulin injections are begun it must be continued.

Also I've read alot about the dry vs wet food, but our vet has assigned us dry food again, which the cat has been eating 90% of the time for the past 5 years. Should we keep with the vets advice or would a low-carb wet food diet be better?

My friend's cat is having kittens. They will be ready for homes at the end of october.I really want one!But my mom doesn't because of all the animals we already have.

The cats are free.I really want one.I know if I bring one home my mom would let me keep it, but she would probably make me keep it outside and only let it inside when I'm home.(I'm at school during the day)

If I do get the cat, I have my own money to feed it and everything, also to get it nuetered.

Should I get a cat?
Or should I just let the cat go to someone who will let it be an indoor cat?

Please help me!

I have two cats and am moving to an apartment with an inside stairwell which goes from ground to second story. THe problem is that it has a wall around it from which the cats could fall and/or perch on precariously.

What does it mean when I cat comes to you when you are not paying attention and rubs its nose on your hand or toe? Does it mean that it loves you?
Sometimes I will be sitting on the chair at my desk looking at the computer doing homework and my cat Sage will come up quietly and rub his nose on my toe. And then he will look at me and start purring. What does this mean?? (BTW, I love my cat. He is so precious)

I mean lets be real here, the cat population would become extinct if every cat born was neutered.
I have noticed that when myself and others have posted about cats being pregnant some people are so cruel and nasty about cats who aren't neutered.
Yes if my cat is pregnant she will be neutered after the kittenes are weaned and im sure others wouold be too, not every1 would let there cat be pregnant constantly. Fair enough be critical of the people who do.
This comment hardly ever arrises with dogs so why???
