my cats name is stormy,
11 years ago...my cat princess had kittens two little grey boys and we couldnt keep them so we took them to the pet store. that night we had a thunderstorm, and i swore i could hear a kitten meowing. so i went outside and there he was, a little bitty grey kitten, being washed down in a stream of water. he was alittle younger than our kittens so i picked him up and brought him in the house, his ear was cut, his eyes were matted up with hair all over them and his little tail was cut half way, he was a mess (we didnt think hed live) but my mom worked at a vets office so she cleaned him up and we let princess take care of him, since we just took her kittens to the pet shop that day she was still used to caring for a baby.

now hes a big fat cat and hes happier than ever, his tail grew back and he looks like a normal happy cat. =] we named him stormy cause of the thunderstorm.

In order of age:

Schizzo - she was born half black and half gray (premature, to a wild cat we later were able to tame and alter) and has lived up to her name by being spastic

Junior - He looked exactly like an older brother (before we could spay wild mom)

Custard - Tortoise shell with a big yellow marking on upper lip that looks like she dipped her nose in a bowl of custard.

MnM (for Misty Mittens) Siamese, could decide on Misty or Mittens, so combined for Misty Mittens, then shortened to MnM (rescued from a farm where they wouldn't spay)

MC - mini custard - same story as Junior

Tony - just a name my daughter came up with when he wandered onto the property

Paprika - calico with the same name story as Tony

Sheik - other daughter picked that name ( I call him Sheikers)

Baby Girl - future son-in-law adopted this stray kitten and just couldn't come up with a name.

That's all we have here right now!!! Give me a week, and I'm sure we'll have a new rescue or two we could add to the list.

I used to have a cat named Nethanial. Him and his siblings were thrown out a train into the cold Alberta Canada winter. He was the only one who survived. After being nursed back to health we named him Nathaniel after a song called, "No Nathaniel" which is about encouragment to never give up. He lived to be about 13. We think he died because he may have consumed some anti-freeze. A great cat that was always well behaved. We loved him.

Yoda

When I went to my uncles to pick up a couple new kittens, this little bugger came up to me when I was eating some potatoe chips, he was the runt of the litter, but had no problem jumping right up on my lap. And when I looked at his earnest little face, all ears and big eyes, he just reminded me of the green guy...then he grabbed the chip from my fingers and jumped back down..my uncle had named him Radar for the time being, because he would zero in wherever there was food.

Also had Ashliegh, he was a persian cross with solid grey hair that was so soft and touchable. I named him obviously for his colour, but also for my favorite movie character from Evil Dead.

As a kitten my cat would hurdle the sofa, then dive under the coffee table and finally vault off of the back of the living room chair....fly through the air and land on my floor to ceiling drapes that were on the sliding glass doors. He would just hang there, claws imbedded into the drape fabric...swinging back and forth. I named him Heathen. His sister would just sit nearby and watch him do this over and over......just sat and watched. I named her Patience.

Our two cats, male and female, are from the same litter. I thought it would be special to give them sophisticated literary names. Well, my hubby could never remember the names I had chosen. He was forever saying to the kittens, "Where's your Sister?" or "Your Big Brother will look after you" (she was very timid). So, it made sense to just call them Sissy and B.B. Simple, easy to remember, and the names ended up suiting them.

1 yr old: Bacon. Named by my granddaughter. She siad "Grandma, when I come to your house I always ask you for bacon, so that's what the cat's name should be." I always make up songs for my cats, but I just say "Bacon, bacon bacon!" to him because of that Beggin strips commercial

6 mo old: Coffee. Because he's black. His song is "Let's have another cup of Coffee."

7 wk old: Cookie. He looks more like a hot fudge sundae when he curls up on the bed, but that name was just too long. So Cookie it is. His song is "C is for Cookie."
