I had a male cat, who was not social at all with other animals. I recently adopted a female kitten. At first he hated her, bust she loved him. Soon he loved her too, and they are now spending time licking each other,he smells her butt and then he licks her ears, he hugs her, they sleep together, she licks him and always lies next to him, etc. The male is neutered, the female isn't yet. Will this behaviour stop when she is spayed? I have another kitten now at the house, she is spayed, and she wants nothing to do with the male cat, and he hates her too.

No, he will still 'love' her just as much as he does now. Cats are like people when it comes to showing eachother affection. Not every person likes every other person, just like not every cat likes every other cat. Your cat just has a personal preference for one cat over the other. It is a personality thing and has nothing to do with your cat being spayed or not.

They will still be best buds. When the female comes back from the vet she will smell funny and the male won't recognize her and will hiss at her and avoid her.

To prevent that take a towel and rub each animal with it in turn. Then with the two scents mixed together rub them each again and they will smell the same.

If this doesn't work, do what I do. Take a bottle of vanilla and put a dab between each cats shoulder blades and another on the back near the tail. Both cats will smell like vanilla and everyone will be happy.

When your cat first gets home from the vet she will be hissed at because she smells like the vet's office. If she slept on a blanket at home every night, you could rub this blanket on her when she gets home and it might help. I've seen cats hissing for a week after a vet visit.

My cats that were best friends continued to be best buds after the surgery and after a long time apart. They don't forget.

I've only ever had one cat that was absolutely in love with another. Phlannel would moon around like she was lovesick, purring and gazing at Shadoe and he could have cared less. Just like some women I know!

Cats are very hierarchical, so with 3 cats they may need to fight it out to decide who is in charge. After that, what you may think is fighting is only a dominance game. They don't kill each other.

Definitely not!
Cats have personality conflicts with other cats, as people do.
Your male will be just as affectionate to her once she's spayed,... he is neutered, so he affection is just platonic.
And good for you for spaying your cats!
They make far better adjusted pets (not being restless during heat season, not to forget the crying of a mother cat when her kittens are given away to possibly irresponsible owners).

He will probably not want to be around her for a very short time right after you bring her home. This is because she will smell different to him and he might think she is a different cat. But they will very quickly get back to normal and after that there should be no change.

Have the female spayed. Cats routinely smell one another all over whether or not they are spayed or neutered. Try and educate yourself on the ways and behaviors of cats and kittens before you acquire any more.

I would have said yup, they will avoid each other like the plague, BUT that was before I got my last cat.

He is a tom who is fixed but you wouldn't think so to look at him some days.

I would say that they will still play and get along ok, and hey if they don't, don't worry about it cats are tricky beasts :)
