....an outside cat, I got it yesterday, and, let him stay inside for the night so he could get used to us. I gave him a lot of food, milk, water, played with him, etc. It slept with my brother last night and woke up next to him this morning. I was leaving the house this morning and the cat ran out the door leading outside, and, ran away. Will he find his way back home, they don't live too far (only 3 miles away). Please answer back, the cat is old enough to be on it's own now.

my cat had 4 kittens all of them opened their eyes except one. that one kitten has hard mucus growing around its closed eyes im wondering if that would prevent the kitten from opening its eyes. i've already tried wiping it away with warm water and q-tips.
Do you think the kitten will die or will never be able to open its eyes.
Any suggetions would help
thanks

Ok I am so... fustruated with my cat, Mooch, he is about 8 yrs.
Everytime I give him attention he purrs happily as I pet him but then all of a sudden he will bite my neck hard or he will sink into my arm and shake his head. Why on earth is he doing this ? I love my cat but and want the biting to stop!

I have two cats at home and I just hate cleaning out their litterbox. I've tried everything from the sifting litterbox liners to the sifting litterboxes themselves but nothing seems to be less messy than the other.

It was recommended to me that I buy an automatic, self-cleaning litterbox, which would be ideal if it works well. Since these litterboxes are pretty expensive, I want to know if they work well before I invest in one only to waste my money.

If so, which is the best one to buy?

I have a five year old female (spayed) cat. 2 weeks ago got a 6-8 wk old male kitten. I went thru the slow 'intro' etc and they are not really friends right now but 'civil to some extent. Big will go to small... and small wiill run, small will go to big and big will run. Some times they will paw each other and other times big will smack little one a bit too hard with her paw. My biggest concern is food. I've kept their food apart but they still go to each other's bowls to eat!! No matter how many times i take them back to their own food bowls, they still eat each other's food. Since kitten food is too rich for big one and cat food is not nutritious enough for small one,, i am worried that big will get fatter and small will get thinner! Has anyone else had this problem? Appreciate your help, thanks.

We're about to move into a large 2 bedroom flat. But I've always wanted a cat. Is it possible to have a cat when you live in a flat or should I leave it until I can eventually afford a house?

Thankyou!

Last year on April 6 my cat had kittens. When they were 5 weeks old I shut one of them in the door his name was Mouth. It paralized him from waist down and all the vets said he'd never make it but I refused to let them put him to sleep. I nursed him back to health and it was so cute because he wore a newborn diaper and could only use his front paws. Mouth was my baby other than my 3 kids. He was part of the family. Mouth died on July 22 2006 he was 15 weeks old. I took this very hard and my husband says that he was just a cat and I should forget it. What do you think? Please don't be mean.

Also others allow it in. I want to spray something or put some smell that cats hate near the door so even if someone in the room invites the damn thing in it will not enter. I know there are things to keep them out of the garden but those spays say not to use indoors. And there are other things that are toxic to humans and if I put it down the kid will get in it. I am not fond of kids eithers, but I really don't want to poison either of them. What can I use?

I have a six year old male cat and recently adopted a two-month old female. We've kept the kitten in our second bath area. She's been to the vet and has everything she needs right now and was cleared on everything except she has an upper respiratory infection. She's on Lysine and seems to be getting better. I've done everything I can to disinfect the area/s and myself not to spread her virus.
However, yesterday I noticed that my male had begun sneezing (every once in a while). He's updated on all of his shots too. I spoke to my former vet (I just moved to where I am now) and she said he should get over it because he's been vaccinated, but to keep an eye on him.
Tonight, I noticed two little puddles of saliva on the carpet from him. Originally I thought he may have caught the virus but he could fight it off, but I have no clue why he's salivating. I know it's not poisoning and his appetite (knock on wood) is completely normal.
Any ideas?

I just got a kitten the other day. He has been neutered, so im guessing hes at least 6 months but no more than a year. I feed him kitten chow twice a day. He seems to have diarrhea, for the past two days of owning him. Could it be that he is adjusting to my home and is scared? Or could it be something bigger? The vet checked him out and said he was fine.

At night I notice he starts acting very differently. He jumps and runs around faster than he does during the day. I dont know how to stop him from doing this.Could this also be a reason for his upset stomach?

Any help me and Willie would appreciate!! Any other tips on raising a kitten let me know also. Thanks so much.

My cat Rocky is going to have knee surgery tomorrow, and will be on crate rest for 6 weeks! I've got his favorite bed, a litterbox, and food/water bowls ready for the crate. What else can I do to make him comfy during his confinement?? He has to be as quiet as possible so his leg can heal.

Is it ok for a cat to eat canned dog food? He's kinda huge for a cat and has big appetite. He's the one on the left side of the pic.

My male cat who is two years old and neutered had blood on his butt that I saw like 5 minutes ago. I cleaned him off with a warm rag. I am going to call the vet in the morning but in the mean time I was wondering if anyone knows what could cause this. His temperment hasn't been any different than normal and I checked in the litter box and all the stools look normal. It's not worms because he got treated for them a month ago when I got a new kitten and he doesn't go outside. His food also hasn't changed.

Thank you!!!

A few years ago, a beautiful orange and white Maine Coone cat strayed onto our farm site. Two years ago, he was struck by a car which shattered his pelvis and disintegrated one of his hip sockets. He's been on enuluose (a laxative) and the pain killer Metacam since then. Romeo now is anemic. The vet has taken him off Metacam and is doing further lab work to determine if that's the cause as it is one of the side effects cats can have with the drug. Has anyone else had this problem? What sort of treatment/prognosis did you have?

im not going to hurt it or anything... my cat is an indoor outdoor cat he used to love being inside instead of out and he hates other cats, but suddenly one day i was watching him eat and this other cat walked up behind him they looked like twins almost! and he never comes in side any more because of that cat they are like best friends and i just want to take the stray to the vet to make sure he is healthy then adopt him if he is. when i first saw the cat he was skin and bone now he is pretty good weight because my cat shares his food with him.
