Wash the area with your normal laundry soap or dish soap, rinse and then wash the area again with some diluted fabric softner. I have done this before and it really helps so the stain does not set in, and also freshen the area. Hope this helps =)

Do you have any Tide? Most cleaners used for this purpose are enzyme based so is Tide. That will do for now. You'll want to run get some Nature's Miracle tommorow otherwise you cat will still detect a faint smell and may pee there again.
I had to get rid of a couch before.

Wash the area with a solution of 10% biological (enzymatic washing liquid/powder) and warm water, then rinse thoroughly with cold water. Using a plant mister spray it with surgical spirit. Scrub this off too and leave it to dry. This method may not be colourfast on all fabrics, so it's best to try it on a hidden area first.

Cat urine contains ammonia, so whatever you do, don't use bleach or products that contain ammonia to clean up. It may smell clean to us, but to a cat, it will simply smell as if another cat has "scent" marked that area.

You are going to get a lot of suggestions for vinegar, bleach, baking soda, etc. The best thing to do, because this really works, is to go to a good pet store and buy a bottle of pet odor eliminator. This is an enzyme based product that destroys the odor and with three dogs in our house, believe me, it works. It is about all you will find in use at dog shows.

Sorry, but the smell of cat urine is permanent. You need to get rid of the couch and, in my opinion, the cat.
