*** CAUTION ***

I hesitate to write this, however my fear of someone trying to mix & match products without proper knowledge scares me more.

First of all, there seem to be bits of truth in everyone's answers, but there's enough falseness to be dangerous. Frontline Plus for dogs had a 3% lower concentation of S-Methoprene than does FP (Frontline Plus) for cats. What does this mean : Yes you could rhetorically treat your cats with your dog formula BUT NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND! (Not that I imagine anyone wanting to squeeze 6 cat FP into their 80lb dog). What does this mean : it will most likely kill existing pests on your cat, but it's long term efficacy will not be the same, however due to the concentration of Fipronil, you should NOT retreat prior to 30 days. Bottom line : if you live in the south or anywhere that had a heavy flea problem, you are best advised to use a product specifically for cats because the dog FP won't last long enough. 1 exeception: If you have only indoor cats

*** warning *** I hesitate to place in penning this, although my concern of somebody attempting to blend & tournament products without appropriate expertise scares me extra. at the start, there look bits of certainty in everyone's solutions, yet there is adequate falseness to be risky. Frontline Plus for dogs had a three% decrease concentation of S-Methoprene than does FP (Frontline Plus) for cats. What does this recommend : particular you should rhetorically deal with your cats with your dogs formulation yet no longer any different way around! (no longer that I think of everyone eager to squeeze 6 cat FP into their 80lb dogs). What does this recommend : it incredibly is going to maximum possibly kill cutting-edge pests on your cat, even though it incredibly is long term efficacy is purely no longer the comparable, although via concentration of Fipronil, you ought to not retreat purely before 30 days. base line : in case you reside interior the south or everywhere that had a heavy flea subject, you're perfect recommended to apply a product specially for cats via fact the dogs FP won't final long adequate. a million exeception: in case you have purely indoor cats

Yes,it's the exact same ingredient.I've done it myself with Frontline and Advantage, with my vet's approval. It isn't OK,with Bio - Spot, though.Using Bio-Spot for dogs on cats will kill the cat.

Well, it *shouldn't* be done, because cat Frontline has a different dose of Fipronil (the active ingredient) than dog frontline.

That said...... Frontline is such a safe product that it probably doesn't matter. And both cat and dog frontline have the same ingredients (just in different doses).

You shouldn't. Its a different formula from cat to dog. You may be able to use it for years, but the cat formula is ment to be spread by grooming. If you brush your dog every day, you have better chances. I do know that if you do it the other way around, you can kill your cat.
