My male cat who is two years old and neutered had blood on his butt that I saw like 5 minutes ago. I cleaned him off with a warm rag. I am going to call the vet in the morning but in the mean time I was wondering if anyone knows what could cause this. His temperment hasn't been any different than normal and I checked in the litter box and all the stools look normal. It's not worms because he got treated for them a month ago when I got a new kitten and he doesn't go outside. His food also hasn't changed.

Thank you!!!

I looked and couldn't see any visible scratch or anything but I guess I will find out what it is in the morning.

Several years ago I adopted a kitten that had a bloody butt, and it turned out to be colitis. He had to take antibiotics, and then he was fine. Have you considered that he was playing with the new kitten and got scratched? Sometimes they play rough. If there isn't any blood in the stool, I would lean toward a play bite or scratch, but it's still a good idea to take him to the vet in the morning. Good luck.
