I think my cats tail is broken and I dont know what to do. Recently about about half way down his tail it is drooping. also when i put even thelightest amout of pressure on this one spot, it realy hurts. I've read some things that say you should take them to a vet and some say it will heal on its own. If anyone actually knows the answer to this please post a comment. Also, please dont just write something like "that sucks" or "too bad" because I need real answers. I love my cat very much and I dont like to see hime in pain.

Hi, I live at a No-Pets-Allowed building.. this is just recent because there are actually a lot of pets, big dogs mainly due to different management years ago.. they can't tell the owners to get rid of the pets obviously, so they get to keep them.
I just moved in about 6 or 7 months ago and I am in this city by myself, no family and just a few friends.
I've had cats all my life and I miss my cats at home terribly..
Anyways, I'm dying to have a cat but my building's policies won't allow me to.
I was told by a friend that I could go to a psychiatrist and ask him to write a note saying that because of emotional distress I need to have a pet at home to comfort me and help me feel "less alone".
I don't know if that is possible or not.. would any of you know anything about this? If not... any suggestions on how to get a cat without having to move (my rent is affordable and my apartment is nice).
Thanks!
M.

Well, he's been chewing on it or something. He has little scabs all around his neck, back, and by his tail. He's a Norweigan Forest, so it's really noticable when you see the bald patches on him. Were taking to the vet tommorrow, but I just want to know before time.
Thanks

I have 2 female cats who are both neutered. They use the cat flap appropriatly but a local stray tom keeps coming in and eating my girl's food and spraying all over the place.I have had to resort to locking my cats out as I have a one year old child who plays on the floor. Help.

she just had her kittens last night and she bolted out the door earlier this morning. all night long she stayed with her kittens, nursed them and did what she as a mother cat was supposed to do. but she left this morning and hasn't come back. i don't know how long she might be gone or if she might ever come back and i know those kittens need her. so, if she doesn't come back, what do i do with the kittens? what will they eat? when will they be hungry?
thanks.

Granny told me to be sure to keep my cat away from the baby because cats are known for sucking the breath right out of babies. This is an old wives tale, Right?

She started doing this about 5 months ago. It is always the same place. We have followed the instructions on how to get the smell out, we put her food on the exact place and it does not stop her. I clean her litter every other day and give her lots of play time. I am starting to believe it is because she has an attitude but she knows that I am made so why would she keep doing it?

I have tried soft paws and they dont stay on long enough. I was hoping someone knew of like plastic protection you stick on couch or something like that or maybe a behavioral thing that will stop them. I just bought a new house and want to keep it clean and neat! Thank you!

Whenever my cat's food dish is empty, he goes into the pantry and eats the broom and then promptly throws up afterward. Why does he do this and how do I get him to stop? He somehow broke the doorknob of the door by pushing on the door so much that it no longer latches. I have tried hiding the broom, burying it under other stuff but he still finds it and eats it. How do I get him to stop until I get a chance to fix the door?

I'm ashamed to admit but in the last few months (due to a combination of human illness, time, and budget constraints) we've been feeding our sweet feline friends only dry food (Science Diet). I know this is terrible so you don't have to remind me of that. All the press on the cat food recall has now got me thinking again about their nutritional needs. So, we are planning to return to an exclusively wet food diet (we've tried raw, which I know is best, but they won't go for it and honestly, as a 2 x full-time student household with an infant, it's not sustainable.) So, I have a two-part question for introducing a fully wet diet: 1) How should we transition from dry kibbles to canned foods? 2) What brands are best? I'm trying to strike a balance between quality and cost. Here is a list of recommended wet foods: http://cats.about.com/cs/catfood/tp/tpcannedadult.htm Anyone have any thoughts on these brands? Thanks.

My cat fetches. I have a little stuffed mouse with a rattle in it which I throw down my long hallway. He will fetch it, and bring it back and drop it at my feet. He will do this about 10 times, then plops down for a rest.
