I doubt she is pregnant by a bobcat. Considering their size, bobcats would be very unlikely to mate with domesticated cats. I don't even know if the offspring would be viable (I very highly doubt it). Many cats may resemble bobcats, but I can tell you they are not related.

A bobcat is more likely to kill a house cat than to breed to it. A house cat impinging on it's territory would be dinner, not it's newest girlfriend.

Female cats can carry kittens from many males all at the same time. So it is more than likely that she is carrying a litter from one or two neighborhood males.

If you saw her being mated by a cat with a bobbed tail, there are serveral standard cat breeds with bobbed tails including the bob-tail and the manx. Also many wild cats are involved in unfortunate accidents, and their tails get cut off or run over by cars. It's one of the dangers of being feral.

She may have gotten knocked up by a FERAL or wild cat. The kittens won't be wild and crazy because of this.

You really should get her spayed as soon as this litter is born (you can have her spayed the first week she has the kittens). Cats can become fertile again in just a few days after giving birth and you really don't need to contribute to the cat overpopulation problem by letting her breed herself to death.

Make sure the kittens get good homes.

i say you should go to the vet and explain to the vet what had happened. because if it is a small cat and bobcats are usually bigger, it could lead to problems at birth. the mother cat could actually die so you should go to the vet. and yes it is possible to have a liger. it is just like a mule.
horse + donkey = mule ( horse has to have baby or donkey will die)
tiger + lion = liger ( lion has to have the baby though)

You are so irresponsible. Do you know how many orphaned kittens there are??? It is because of people like you. You should have had your kitten spayed. Do you know what happens to all the orphaned newborn kittens out there that get taken to a shelter? If they are not adopted within 2 hours of arriving at the shelter, they KILL them. You are adding to this problem by not being a responsible pet owner.

If you don't want the kitties or the responsibility of trying to find homes for them, take your cat to the vet immediately and have her spayed.
We adopted a stray cat some years ago... she'd just been hanging out here for a while and I finally broke down and fed her.
Anyway, a few weeks later I took her to the vet and she was pregnant. We weren't ready for a cat, let alone babies, so they spayed her, which entailed a kitty abortion.

I think you should contact a reputable vet. I once had a bengal cat who got pregnant by a stray cat, and as a result all of her babies died, including her. She was also very young, and the stray cat was hughe. Anyway, that's the best advice I can give you. Good luck!

Be careful! I had a stray cat come into our yard. She was half wild bob cat. She had 24 toes. She nearly ate my tiny, teacup, toy fox terrier, while playing with him. Something set her off, and she clawed him, just viciously, for no reason. We watched her, fed her, but, after a short while, we saw she was too wild for a family to have around the home. Be careful, as I have heard many people tell me, NOW, that the wild cat cannot be contained when they are half kitty.

Are you sure it was a bobcat??

Ask the vet -- too bad your cat was not spayed.

And exactly WHY do you think your cat was impregnated by a bobcat? It would more likely kill her than mate with her!
