I have heard that the head remains in the animal. To get them off without leaving a trace, use a hot needle.Just heat it on a stove burner or use a match.Touch the tick with it and its response will be to back out of the animal.
Once that it is out,get it isolated on a sheet of paper or pluck it up with some tweezers.Drop it into the toilet and flush it away.
Be careful when you grab hold of the tick,do not grasp to tightly or it will burst. It is all messy when that happens.

Get an adult to check, or even better, a vet!

If you just pull the ticks off, their mouth parts tend to stay in the animal and cause an infection. If the area becomes swollen in any way, or there is pus there, you need to take the cat to a vet.

Please get your parents or whoever to get some proper flea/tick medication from the vets in future please. This will stop the cat getting ticks.

If you picked the ticks off, then no the body isn't still on it. You should make sure that your cat stays away from the woods though.

i agree with the previous answerer. ticks can cause lots of different diseases, lyme disease being the most common. your vet will probably recommend frontline or another topical medication for your cat. it can get expensive, but it's worth it if you're going to let your cat outside.

Yes it is bad take your kitty to the vet ASAP. Ticks are bad more harmfull then fleas, they could be deadly chances are you could get one on you, be carefull and take any chances, go to the vet now.
